The bride-to-be is a 1978 graduate of Blue Mountain Union School and a 1980 graduate of Champlain College. She is employed by the St. Johnsbury Trucking Co. of St.

Johnsbury. Her fiance is a 1978 graduate of Littleton High School and Is employed by Kell-tronics of Littleton. A July 24 wedding is planned. VarallPerry Wedding STOWE Ellin F. Perry and Kenneth J.

Varall of Stowe and Toms River, N. were married here Feb. 20. A private ceremony, at which Charles Burnham, justice of the peace, officiated, was held at their home on Mansfield View Road here. Attendants were Mary Kay Blouin and Richard Varall, sister and brother of the couple.

Janell Perry, daughter of the bride, presented the rings. Nicole Gagne, niece of the bride, was junior attendant. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Marcel Blouin of Montpelier and Mr.

and Mrs. Robert Varell of Toms River, N.J. Mrs. Varall graduated from Montpelier High School and is employed by the Sundown Corp. Her husband graduated from the U.S.

Merchant Marine Academy and is employed by the Texaco Corp. as a deck officer. A reception at the Foxfire Restaurant followed the ceremony. OGLE-SYKAS MONTPELIER Cora M. Ogle of Pittsfield, announces the engagement of her daughter, Susan, of Marblehead, to John W.

Sykas of 316 S. Union Burlington, Vt. The bride-to-be is also daughter of the late Richard H. Ogle Jr. Her fiance is son of John W.

and Marilyn Sykas Sr. of 8 Winter Montpelier. They plan to be married Aug. 7 in the First Church of Christ, Congregational, in Pittsfield, Mass. The bride-elect is a 1969 graduate of Pittsfield High School and in 1971 oi Berkshire Community College.

She graduated from Boston University in 1973 and earned her masters degree in 1978 from Boston College. She is a clinical nurse specialist and nurse practitioner at Boston Childrens Hospital Medical Center. The bridegroom-to-be graduated from Dean Junior College and in 1971 from the University of Vermont. He is an account executive with E.F. Hutton FORTIER-MILLINGTON BARRE Mr.

Cioffredi Jr. Miss Anderson, a 1978 graduate of Proctor High School, will graduate with a degree in psychology from the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, in May. Her fiance graduated from Rutland High School in 1979 and is a physical education major at Castleton State College. A June 1983 wedding is planned. Mr.

and Mrs. Stephen R. Shortsleeves Shortsleeves-Bumps MIDDLEBURY Kathryn N. Bumps, daughter of Rita M. Bumps of Middlebury and the late Raymond H.

Bumps, and Stephen R. Shortsleeves, son of Russell E. and Florena M. Shortsleeves of Pittsford, were married March 20 in St. Marys Church here.

The Rev. Peter Routhier and the Rev. John Shorthill officiated at the double-ring ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Thomas W. Bumps.

She wore a long, white gown of organza and rose-point Chantilly lace fashioned with a Queen Anne neckline. Silk Venise lace and seed pearls adorned the fitted bodice and long bishop sleeves. Reembroidered Chantilly lace trimmed the full lace skirt, which fell into a cathedral train. She carried sweetheart roses and carnations with babys breath. Norma B.

Manning, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Cynthia Polcaro, sister of the bridegroom, and Shirley Plyler. Holly Fox was flower girl. Richard Shortsleeves was best man for his brother. Ushers were Terry Norris and Robert Norris.

Ring bearer was Chad Fox A reception for 160 people was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Middlebury. Guests attended present from New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Kentucky, as well as Vermont. The bride, a graduate of Middlebury Union High School, is employed at Simmonds Precision in Vergen-nes. The bridegroom, a graduate of Otter Valley Union High School, is employed at Allied Power and Light Co. Following a seek at Orlando, the couple will live on Windy Hill Drive in Pittsford.

and Mrs. James Sayers of Plainfield announce the engagement of their daughter, Crystal, to James Pierce of Woodbury, son of Marjorie Pierce and the late Mason Pierce. Miss Sayers is a 1979 graduate of Twinfield High School and a 1981 graduate of Hesser College of Manchester, N.H. She is a medical secretary for the University Health Center of Burlington. Her fiance is a 1980 graduate of Spaulding High School in Barre and will graduate in 1983 from Vermont Technical College with an electrical engineering degree.

Ellis of Cary and formerly of Rutland, announce the engagement of their daughter, Susan Arlott Ellis, to Louis Ray Long son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ray Long of Raleigh. Ms. Ellis, a 1977 graduate of Rutland High School, attended Bay Path Junior College for Women in Longmeadow, Mass.

She is employed as a production manager at Wayne M. Gibson Building Corp. Long, a 1976 graduate of Sanderson High School in Raleigh, attended Colorado State College in Greely. He is operations manager at Cooperative Computing. A June 12 wedding is planned in Raleigh.

She plans to enter medical school in the fall of 1983. Her fiance graduated from Spaulding High School in Barre in 1975 and from the University of Vermont in 1977 with a dergree in psychology. He is a third-year medical student at the same university.
