Concentrated conference set for May 4 A one-day concentrated con-j ference on planned developments, condominiums, and cluster housing, focused on the] needs of the home building in' dustry in the West, has been scheduled for May 4, 1964. at the Palladium in Hollywood, California, according to an announcement today by Robert A. Olin, president of the Home Builders Association of Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura Counties, sponsors of the event Progress of the past year in use of these three types of developments in the West will be acalyzed, reviewed and described by builders who constructed them, architects who designed them, lenders who financed them, and city officials who planned for them. Thirty speakers both national and local, each an authority in a particular area, will be pre-, sented at this new kmd of conr ference. It will be a gigantic case history report on advances made with these newest ^concepts recently adopted by the home building industry, to meet the needs of population pressures, urban planning, growth of western cities, and better use of land. The conference has been designed especially for builders, lenders, architects, planners, city officials and other involved in the building industry in the 11 Western states, with emphasis on answering the questions of Western builders. Bay A. Watt, president of R. A. Watt Construction Company, Gardena, California, is chairman of the HBA Condominium Committee under whose direction the conference will be presented.
