BRECHER Veteran pro-wrestling promoter Leah Maivia widow of "'High Chief" Peter Maivia and grandmother of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson died Sunday at her Davie home of a heart attack. She was 77. Johnson, a former wrestler who now acts, is the only child of Maivia's only child, daughter Ata Johnson. Through a spokesman, both said they were too upset to comment.

Maivia took over the Hawaii-based Polynesian Pacific Pro Wrestling after her husband died in 1982, becoming one of the industry's few female promoters. Peter Maivia was inducted into the World Wrestling Leah Maivia took over Pro Wrestling in 1982, industry's few female Entertainment Hall of Fame in March.
