But you would change your mind about that image if you had seen the sports writer return the other night after being refused admittance to the pro rassling exhibition. "She wouldn't let me in," he explained, meaning the blonde at the ticket gate.

You could tell he wasn't as shaken by not getting to see the fellows grunt and groan as he was by the fact that he couldn't talk his way past a blonde. Sort of hurt the poor fellow's ego. Fortunately we were able to talk the fellow out of suing the syndicate that runs the touring road show for mental anquish. Missed One Of 43 Title Bout "But I didn't get to see the Nebraska State Championship match," he sobbed. He was consoled somewhat when informed that he not only missed the Nebraska State Championship match, but that he also had missed world championship matches in 43 other cities the same night, Rassling champions are more numerous than are queens on today's college campuses.

He also kicked the point to make it 19 13 with 6:50 left. Then Tietjen, a 187 pound junior end, took over. A defensive standout all night, he also snared four passes, setting up Wesleyan 's second touchdown with scintillating catch. His last reception probably was his most important. Midland, he finally sent Willis Weis brook barreling over from the meanwhile, was virtually the shirt off the referee. This is the only area where an official can be attacked without the attacker being sus pended for life. But it's part of the game and besides the fans like it. Friday's newspaper carried two short news stories, one was on the sports page.

The other on a news page. The first one was routine. It pointed out that the Northeast High School reserve football team defeated Lincoln High's reserves, 19 12. The other pointed out that one of the Northeast players was hospitalized over night and released the next day after treatment for a broken nose and other minor injuries. The big question is: Could this type of story become, routine also? Obviously, it is hoped not.

The injury did not come during the game. It came shortly after the game before the Northeast players could all get on the bus and go home. It came in a post game fight or assault or whatever name you choose to give to it. Who was guilty or who was involved doesn't really matter. The incident, in fact, could be considered minor in view of what goes on in some communities following high school athletic contests.

Second Question? And this brings up the next big question: Could Lincoln have the same massive problems which confront other areas? Lincoln has been fortunate in that the number of these Incidents have been below par. But Lincoln is a growing community, and it won't be long until another high school will be operating. And with it will come new ties, new feelings and probably new problems. Officials from Lincoln High and Northeast went to work immediately after the Friday nlfht episode and came up with several preventative measures, including police on the scene and a plan to have the bus driven up closer to the field where the reserve teams play. All reserve games must be played at the Lincoln High oval since it is the only available facility.

Did Play in Day Time Until a couple of years ago the reserve games were played in the day time, but school officials felt that patrons and parents would like the opportunity to see the reserves play. And, too, it helped tram the boys who eventually will play with the varsity under the lights. Now, officials have a lever of sorts. They can move the games back to daytime affairs. But this would hardly prove anything either.

It seems to me the root of the problem lies not with the location of the sun or the moon or school officials or anything else. It lies, instead, with the teenagers and their parents. This idealistic approach draws nothing but guffaws. It obviously isn't new and for the most part it's been ignored by everyone for a long time. Friday night won't change things either.

Unless That is, it won't change things, unless everyone, parents and youngsters alike, sits down and asks himself one simple question. WHY? I'd have to believe we could come up with a pretty good prize for anyone who can see some good come out of these post game rumbles or whatever they may be called. According to every parent it naturally isn't his young one. stymied. Not so after the interims sion.
