advice on how to stop dogs from retrieving newspapers tossed on walks and porches by newsboys Some dogs seem to make a habit of bringing home most of the newspapers left by new in their neighborhood Here's a suggestion I have given owners of such it works: Take a few old papers and smear their insides with mustard Toss these on the walks or front steps where your dog usually takes papers Mustard is hot in odor as well as zzlgce After coming across one or two such treated newspapers the dog will probably lose his interest in bringing home your neighbors papers i '''z'' 0-- 1 ''I'''''-' AS Seeing-Eye Dogs 1t4ANY times I have seen blind men with their Seeing-Eye dogs and I have watched carelessly kind people go up to and pat the dog whenever the opportunity arose I wanted to protest to them for their actions and here is why: One should remember that such a dog is the eyes of the blind man first and a dog second Never speak to such a dog Never touch or pet him And never try to feed him or in any way divert his mind from his work When a blind man and his dog approach you on the street give the dog an opportunity to pass you don't wilfully obstruct their way Always speak to a blind person first if you must pet his dog but remember it is best not to pet him at all A blind man cannot protect himself or his dog but the dog is perfectly able to protect himself and his master So never make it necessary for the dog to appear disagreeable These dogs are doing a wonderful service to mankind Help them in their great work by remembering these few wise rules The World Championship Golf tournament finals will be broadcast from the Tam O'Shanter Country club Chicago Ill at 6 tonight on WHB HINT ON CROSBY'S TV PLANS In all likelihood Bing Crosby's first regular Nine out of ten people in the low est income brackets in these areas have radios Radio's constant audience Indoors and outdoors without stopping throughout the day was significantly evaluated The two top listening periods were between waking and breakfast and between dinner and going to bed during each of which 29 per cent of the people tune in The report showed that of the total adult population in TV areas 58200000 or 95 per cent have one or more home radios in working order 32 per cent have two sets and 23 per cent have two to seven Also 31800- 000 persons or 52 per cent have THINKING UP A radio primarily for information and entertainment 66 per cent for the former and 70 per cent for the latter The most frequent advantage named was that "you can listen to it while doing other things"
