He cuddles the little guy kissing his forehead before passing him back to daddy "I think it's time for you to cry yourself to sleep" Jake tells John Paul and disappears into the house Mr McCay begins to tell the tale It began in 1983 just after Mr McCay's most famous band Th' Cigaretz broke up Th' Cigar etz were Raleigh's first punks Surge played blues country and hardcore Songs included "DILL" and "Charlie Gaddy has the Night Off" By 1985 the members all hated each other so they broke up Jake ventured into local theater and a steady job at The Paper Plant The others gigged around during their spare time Mr McCay became a producer and opened Raleigh's JAG Studios His real passion was fishing "I just didn't care" he says "The '80s were a time of indifference nobody else cared so neither did we" Stints with Th' Cigaretz and Surge had soured Mr McCay on the music business His days as a producer made it worse Fishing was the only way to keep his revulsion from eating him alive "The business is so stupid" he spits out "As a producer I saw the most mediocre people get deals while people with tremendous talent got nothing" Then John Custer arrived in his life Mr Custer was a guitar whiz one of the first locals to crack Eddie Van I lalens supersonic code The pieces were in place Last month the original Surge reformed and joined by Mr Custer started rehearsing The key was creativity unbridled and raw No planning no tailoring to suit pop All Day Saturday suoyo All Premium Brands (Beer Wine Mixed Drinks) Does Not Include Doubles co Buffalo Wings Neighborhood Grill lb lot EINIMEnilimMEO II.
