BRYAN LAWYER, Oxford, N. Rougemont, where a splendid supper awaited them. A romance covering a period of seven years culminated in a pretty marriage last Thursday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L.

O. Rogers in Youngsvilie, when Mr. C. Bragg, of Stem Route 3, led to the altar Miss Willie Lee Washington, of Stem Route 1. The bride is one of the most beautiful, accomplished and popular young ladies of this section; the groom is a successful young farmer and also one of the most popular young men in this county.

They will make their home in the residence recently vacated bv Mr. C. Haskins. We wish them much happiness on their wedded journey. Cupid seems to be very active in Northern Granville.

On last Sunday morning at the conclusion of services at Sharon church, Miss Neva Denny and Mr. Alfred Huff, of that community and Miss Minnie Williams and Mr. Gordan Thomas, both of Oak Hill community, accompanied by a few-intimate friends, the former going to Squire Gentry's, near Aliensville, Person county, where they were united in marriage. The latter repaired to Squire Will Thorp in Oak Hill township near Satter white's Shop where he ppoka the words that made them one. Both marriages were runaway affairs, quite a surprise to the people of that section.

Phone 55-A Wrei. McHinley Merritt Dead. William McKioley Menitt was born December 7, 1902, and died November 28, 1912, son of William and Eugenia Merritt. He was the pet and pride of parents and grand-parents. God in His wisdom saw it was best to transplant the flower into His own garden fearing an idol he might prove.

He was a good child and always had a conciousness of the right within He would remark to his father, after bending the knee iu payer, "Papa. I feel better now God will take care of Kinley He would often join wiih the other with his feeble voice in singing praises to God. He had been in bad health for several years, but he endured his suffering with a Christian patience, for one so young. He showed he did not fear death. He who gave thee has taken thee back, Less an idol their presence might prove.

And the arms which encircles thee now. Are the proof of thy Saviour's love. As He said, "All who wear that bright crown Must experience affliction's sharp rod. Hence thy innocent form suffered pain Ere thou entered thy Father's abode. Now thou'rt safe in thy Heavenly ho ne.
