Spruill's committee is expected to make recommendations on advertising to the council in January. Any rules the council adopts will eventually need to be approved by the N.C. Supreme Court. Wade C. Hargrove, attorney for the N.C.

"Would a simulated jury argument or arrest be permitted (during an ad)?" "You have to deal with that (style) in whatever (media) forum you're in," he said. Spruill suggested that the one way to regulate ads on radio or TV would be to require attorneys to keep copies of the script of the ad and to require them to stick to the script when the ad is aired.
