ARLM www.star-telegram.comTuesday,February26,2008 11B OBITUARIES David Allen Six FORT WORTH David Allen Six, 82, a retired petroleum geologist and a man who loved his God, his family and his country, passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008. FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Tuesday in the sanctuary of Ridglea Christian Church, 6720 W. Elizabeth Lane.

The Rev. Chuck Burns will officiate. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. MEMORIALS: His memory may be honored with a gift to the Memorial Fund of Ridglea Christian Church or acharity of choice. Dave was born April 15, 1925, in Luchowfu Hafei Anhwei, China, to Ray L.

and Gladys Six, who were Christian missionaries to China. After returning to the United States when Dave was 18 months old, the Sixes lived in Stillwater, where his father was a professor of geology at Oklahoma now Oklahoma State University. At the age of 14, Dave earned the rank of Eagle Scout, making him the youngest Eagle Scout in the state of Oklahoma. He then went on to attend Stillwater High School. At only 17, Dave enlisted in the U.S.

Navy. He fought during World War II in the South Pacific. Most notably, he fought in the Pacific theater at Bougainville in the Solomon Islands off the aircraft carrier Bunker Hill. After surviving three bouts of malaria, he was honorably discharged in 1945 and returned to the United States. Before returning to Oklahoma, adventurous spirit led him to dismantling war planes in Kingman, working in the coal mines of Wyoming and at the Kaiser-Fraser plant in Albany, Ind.

Dave attended Central (Oklahoma) State University and University of Oklahoma and graduated from Oklahoma University in 1951 with a degree in geology. While attending Central State, he met the love of his life, Vivian Thompson. They were married in 1949. After living in various parts of Texas, New Mexico and Louisiana, the family moved to Fort Worth in 1961. During his career as a petroleum geologist, he was employed by Citi Service Oil Delhi Taylor Oil Midwest Oil and Southwest Gas Producing Co.

Late in his career, he was vice president of Centaur Petroleum Co. and owner of Sixex Energy, Inc. As an active community leader, Dave was a member of Ridglea Christian Church, where he served as deacon, elder and honorary elder. He was adevoted member of the Republican Party, serving as precinct chair for many years. In addition, he was past president of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists Southwest Section, past president of the Fort Worth Geological Society and a past president of the Blue Raiders Athletic Association.

He was a longtime member of the Petroleum Club and served on the board of directors. In 1983 Dave was chosen for a select group of AAPG members to present geological papers to the Oil Ministry of the Republic of China. At the Petroleum Club he was a member of the self-proclaimed Round Table where he and his friends spent many memorable hours discussing and solving the important issues of the day! family and friends will fondly remember him as a man who was always willing to voice his opinion and a man who truly believed that every penny earned was a penny meant to be saved. After graduation from high school, she moved in 1936 to Fort Worth, where she met and married Benny Snofsky in 1937.

She retired from Liberty Manufacturing as a bookkeeper. She was a member of the Petroleum Club and Fort Worth Business and Professional Association. She loved to play bingo, garden and travel. After the death of her husband, she dedicated her life to her family by providing a loving and caring home and sanctuary for each of them. Aline was a generous, unselfish and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

In addition to her parents and husband, Aline was preceded in death by a son, Joe Edwin, and three sisters, Jewell Smothers, Ruthie Jackson and Letha Fisher. 28, 1920, in Pleasantville, N.J. While attending college in Indiana, he met his loving wife of 68 years, Lillian Doris DuBois of Roann, Ind. Alan graduated from the Indiana Institute of Technology in 1942 with a degree in aeronautical engineering and immediately joined the Vought aircraft organization in Connecticut as an aeronautical structural engineer. Alan then enjoyed a 35-year career with Vought rising steadily within the engineering ranks and being greatly involved along the way with the designs of the F4U Corsair (a famous World War II fighter plane) and the F8U-1 Crusader. Alan and Lillian, with their three young daughters, moved to the Dallas area in 1948 with the relocation of the Vought Corp.

from Connecticut to Grand Prairie. He retired from Vought Corp. as director of engineering, technical research and development in 1977. Upon retirement from Vought, Alan joined Aerospatiale Helicopter Corp. of France, formerly the Vought Helicopter where he was instrumental in developing a new short-range recovery helicopter for the U.S.

Coast Guard, designated the HH-65 Dolphin. Alan retired from Ae- rospatiale in 1987, and he and Lillian then made their home in Grapevine. Despite completely losing his hearing to spinal meningitis in 1945, Alan continued his long, productive and successful careers with Vought and Aerospatiale. Remarkably, along the way, he also earned his and doctorate of engineering degrees from Southern Methodist University. He was preceded in death by his parents, George F.

and Edna B. Starr, and brother, Eric Starr. BURIAL: Greenwood Memorial Park. Pat was born Jan. 20, 1933, in Fort Worth. She was the youngest of three daughters of Robert and Hortense Coffman. She was a lifelong area resident and graduated valedictorian from North Side High School in 1949.

When her two sons were older, she went to work at the Education Employees Credit Union as a branch manager. It started as a one- person position, for four hours each day doing $30,000 a month in activity, and grew to three employees working under her and doing $3 million. After leaving EECU, she worked as an independent federal auditor. One of her many happy times was the 1 years she and her husband lived in Iran while he was working for General Dynamics. She was a loving and giving person who cared for her mother, husband and many friends and neighbors when their health failed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, M. Waits; her parents; and a sister, JoAnne. SURVIVORS: Sons, Arthur M. Waits Jr. and fiancee, Erlinda of Denton, and Steve Waits of Fort Worth; sister, Roberta Johanson of Fort Worth; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
