20, 1915. SIX THE HATTIESBU.RG WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER NEWS FIRM COMPANY CUT LUMBER FOR LOMO As nearly as any building very well can be, The Lomo is a South Mississippi building. Being built primarily of brick and reinforced concrete, there is not great deal of lumber about it, but what lumber there is had to be carefully sawed and dressed and it was done in Hattiesburg. The Firm Lumber company, whose big planing mill is right in the heart of the city, furnished the lumber for The Lomo. The company is one of the youngest but largest institutions in the city and has connected with it many of the most prominent men in local financial circles.

It was organized in 1911, with a capital stock of $100,000, being the consolidation of the Hattiesburg Coal and Ice Co. and the Rich Lumber and Manufacturing Co. D. Emmett McInInis is president of the company, C. Z.

Stevens is vice-president and Earl B. King is secretary and treasurer. Three three, together with George Komp, Gillespie, W. A. Brown, of Carrollton, and C.

E. Neeley, of St. Louis, form the directorate. The Firm Lumber Company's name would indicate that it is exclusively a lumber concern, but as a matter of fact its ice and coal departments are equally as important as its lumber department. The company's ice plants have a daily capacity of ninety tons and numerous wagons radiate all over Hattiesburg to provide the public with morning deliveries.

The company also handles each year a large coal business, frequently receiving 'several car loads a day from the mines. The largest volume of their business, however, is in the lumber department, and they conduct this department on an entirely different basis from most of the other South Mississippi mills. They buy from the smaller mills near Hattiesburg and manufacture the lumber; then, instead of selling exclusively to wholesalers, they sell a large percentage of their output to retailers and 1 to railroad and car manufac-. turers. They specialize in railroad and car material and also do a considerable business in custom dressing.

Their planing mill has a capacity of from 75,000 to 100,000 feet per day. VAMPIRE WOMAN." Although The Lomo is constructed primarily as a motion picture theatre, its stage is big enough to date almost any light entertainment.

It is the plan of the management to present strictly high class entertainments at intervals, though the regular run of motion pictures will not be interrupted often. For this winter's season The Lomo has booked six high-class attractions of the International Entertainment Bureau, of Chicago, and these six will form a lyceum course in which there lis much merit. The first attraction will be the Six University Girls, half a dozen attractive young women who are accom- of the attrac plished vocal and instrumental musi- pianist; and Irene Griebel, soprano, sent a series of musical and dramatic the constitute still another Mande and cians.
