A situation similar to that reported in Omaha and North Platte Monday, where jobs are open, but workers are few, has been found in every town canvassed. At Alliance, where 50 vacancies were listed, employment service officials said the few applicants don't begin to measure up to the demand. In Scottsbluff, C. L. Housing Shortage At Scottsbluff. He said that lack of housing prevents the agency from bringing in workers to fill the 278 job openings listed at his office. No war industries were situated in the Scottsbluff area, and there have been no cutbacks or layoffs. Yungblutt said that in the past few days a few workers have "drifted" into the Scottsbluff area from California and eastern Ne braska. Most of them, he said, were laid off by the Martin Bomber plant in Omaha; while those from California formerly lived in the Scottsbluff area.

In Omaha WMC officials said that area would remain a class 3 or "in balance' employment area for another week. Class 3 indicates 12 to 20 per cent unemployment.
