He was a na- i ve A a mance County and lived for the past 40 years in Wake County. par- ents were the late Lawrence and Lorraine Bram- mer of Burlington.

Tommy attended Elon College High School and served with U.S. Air Force for one tour in Korea. He retired completely from IBM in Research Triangle Park in 2005. Tommy enjoyed chatting with people, being with his family, watching television and working puzzles. Tommy is predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Doris L.

Brammer, formerly of Alamance County and his eldest son, Thomas Bram- mer, age 47, of the home. Survivors include: a brother and a sister-in-law, Larry and Jeanette Brammer of Graham; a sister, (Marlyn) Brammer of Burling- ton; a son, Jody L. Brammer of the home; two daughters and sons-in- law, Samantha (Tammy) and Gregg Lumsden of Fuquay-Varina, April (Whitlock) and Carl Hunter of Ra- leigh. Tommy had a special grand- daughter, Meaghan Whitlock of the home. He has two additional grand- daughters; two grandsons.

Dr. Fry was born June 6, 1928 in Detroit, MI to Dwight and Adrienne (Craig) Fry. He died August 24, 2007 in Locust Grove. A native of Detroit, MI, Dr. Fry was a Free Will Baptist minister for 54 years.

He pastored 25 years in five states Louisiana, Texas, Arizona, North Carolina, and Tennessee, and twice served as a home missionary. He was a denominational leader in developing church training mate- rials and Sunday School curriculum, and was a highly regarded meeting planner. He served 18 years with two Free Will Baptist national agen- cies (Church Training Service and the Sunday School Department) in a number of roles, including director, assistant director, adult curriculum director and Conference coordinator. A profile Bible teacher, writer and vocalist, he published seven books and recorded three albums. He served two years in the U.S.

Army and six years in the U.S. Air Force. He graduated from four colleges and seminaries, eventually earning the Doctor of Ministry degree at Luther Rice Seminary. He is survived by two sons, Dr. Malcolm Craig Fry, Jr.

and wife, Christi of Kingsport, TN, Rev. Mat- thew D. Fry and wife, Martha of Raleigh; two daughters, Pamela Mae Vaughan and husband, Mike of Four Oaks, Rebecca Dawn Gwartney and husband, Curt of Locust Grove, OK; 10 grandchildren; two great-grand- children; two brothers, Richardson Fry of Jerusalem, Israel, and Donald Fry of Weatherford, TX; one sister, Ann Knowles of Fayetteville, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Myrtle Mae Fry. Larry LeMarr Lakins SURF CITY Larry LaMarr Lakins, 68, of 3024 3rd Street, Surf City, formerly of Nappanee, IN, died Sun- day, August 26, 2007 a 6 40 p.m. at Goshen General Hospi- tal, Goshen, IN following a sud- den illness. He was born June 28, 1939 in Bremen IN The son of Rob- ert Parcell and Lucille Guard Parcell. He lived most of his life in the Nappanee area prior to mov- ing to Surf City in 2003. He married Ann M.

Anderson on Sept. 2, 1961 in Watha, NC, she preceded him in death on Dec. 4, 1997. He served in the US Army in Korea and was later recalled to service during the Berlin Crisis. He was former owner of the Old Buffalo Inn Bed and Breakfast in Nappanee, IN.

He was currently semi-retired working for Intracoastal Reality Corporation in Surf City. A graduate of Nappanee High School in 1957 where he was an outstanding basketball player. The 1955 Bull Dogs won the Elkhart Sectional. He was the lead- ing scorer in 1956 and second in 1957. Larry was recruited to North Carolina State by the former Hoo- sier Everett Case.

During his senior year. Coach Case became ill and Press Maravich (Pistol Pete Marav- father) took over as North Carolina Coach. During the 1965 season Larry was captain and leader of the team. Late in season he lead the country in field goal per- centage. They went on to beat Duke to win the Atlantic Coast Champion- ship and earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

Larry was also recog- nized as an outstanding defensive player in NC State. Arrangements by Thompson-Len- gacher Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, IN. Robert Eugene Detwiler SEVEN SPRINGS Robert Eugene Detwiler, 74, of Seven Springs, died Wednesday, August 29, 2007. Mr. Detwiler was born in Philadelphia to the late Robert and Madeleine Valin Detwiler. Robert grew up in Tra- verse City, Michigan and was gradu- ated from Traverse City Central High School in 1950.

He served as a medic with the United States Navy during the Korean War. Robert was graduated from the Ferris State School Of Pharmacy before owning and operating Detwiler Drugs which had three locations in Michigan. Robert and his wife, Christine had a great love of travel, twice visiting forty nine states in their motor- coach. They have fond memories of sailing to Saint Thomas in their boat on which they lived for six years. A private graveside memorial ser- vice will be held at Seven Springs United Methodist Church Ceme- tery.

Robert is survived by his wife of twenty four years, Christine Sutton Detwiler; three children, Stephen Detwiler of Torch Lake, MI, Mich- elle Sheckler and husband, Douglas of Cedarville, MI, Deborah Calley and husband, Larry of Battle Creek, MI; seven grandchildren, Robbie Detwiler, Lindsey Detwiler, Jenni- fer Sheckler, Kelly Sheckler, Aaron Heathcote, Carly Heathcote and Eri- ka Heathcote; and special family friends, Ted and Cathy Manville. RALEIGH Dr. James Peter Mal- lette, 80, of 809 Mordecai Raleigh died Tuesday, August 28, 2007 a i home. Dr. Mallette was a long-time resident of Ra- leigh and was the son of the late, James and Elizabeth Mal- lette. Dr.

Mal- lette graduated rom Ca thedra igh School in Raleigh and served during WWII in the U.S. Navy. He attended UNC Wilmington and was a gradu- ate of Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, MO in 1950. Dr.

Mallette returned to Raleigh that year and began his chiropractic practice, retiring in 1998. He was a past President of the N.C. Chiro- practic Association, an active mem- ber of the Raleigh Civitan Club, and a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Cathedral in Raleigh. Dr. Mallette was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Elnora Mallette in 1996 and by his brother, Dr.

William F. Mallette. Surviving are his three children, daughter, Carol M. Seate; sons, William M. Massey and wife, Jeri and Thomas H.

Massey and wife, Debbie, all of Raleigh; his brother, John Tony Mallette and wife, Gin- ger of Belhaven, NC; 10 grandchil- dren and 10 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday from p.m. at Bryan- Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake For- est in the Mordecai Historic Community of Raleigh, 832-8225. She was born on September 11, 1927 to Ho- ratio and Hazel Hall of Groton, New York. She graduated from Auburn Ci ty Hospital School of Nurs ing in Auburn New York. She be- came the wi fe Gor don William Forshee on November 19, 1949.

Alma was a devoted wife to Gordon and a devoted mother to her children, Dianne, Patti, and Jeff. Alma loved the Lord and served Him faithfully throughout her life. She was active in spreading word in the United States and in many foreign countries. Alma was a faithful member of the Bethel Church in Fuquay-Varina for more than 20 years. She found pleasure in gardening and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Forshee and wife Penni Forshee of Raleigh, and daughters, Dianne Bak- er and her husband, Bob Baker of Winston-Salem, Patricia Roberson and her husband, David Roberson of Winston-Salem; seven grandchil- dren; and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are one sister, Eleanor Collins; brothers, David Hall of Nac- ogdoches, Texas. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 31, 2007 at White Plains United Methodist Church, 313 East Maynard Road, Cary, NC.
