third time they did nat give up a touchdowii As they did in toe ather games Duke could make little headway in the opening minutes and then opened up the defense with a deadly passing attack led by quarterbacks Walt Rappold and Gil Garner The Deacons their field goal on the third play of the second period when sophomore Mickey Walker of Mebane kicked successfully from the lnyard line Duke stopped on the ground then took to the air and scored each of its touchdowns passing Futrell Scores Two Garner of the No 2 unit passed down the middle to sophomore Billy Futrell from the 4-yard line with 5:10 left in the first half Garner set up the score by toter renting a pass and returning it 21 yards to the Deacon 21 Duke then raced the halftime clock to score its second touchdown with 14
