League Will Donate Sum to Rex Hospital Junior League Money to Sponsor Premature Baby Ward A donation of $12,500 will be made by the Raleigh Junior League to Rex Hospital so that the hospital may proceed with plans for the premature babies ward, it was announced at a of the Wednesday at asceting thenior Walter Hotel. Mrs. Ben Park, chairman of the hospital building project, said this decision was reached at a meeting this week of the League's Finance' Committee and the Rex Hospital Board. Rex, one of six centers in the state designated to participate in the Federal-State Premature Care Program sponsored by the North Carolina State Board of Health, urgently needs the ward to comply with requirements of the program, said. City Manager Roy Braden was guest speaker at the League meeting.

Introduced by Mrs. Ollen McLeod, education chairman, Mr. Braden spoke on city government. Provisional members were welcomed to. the meeting and introduced by Mrs.

Charles peere Mrs. Henry Harris presided at the business session which followed, and various committee chairmen made reports. Mrs. Joseph Yates gave a report on the progress of the health survey of Wake County which the Junior League has understaken at the request of the Community Council. Mrs.

Yates said that cooperation of the Community Council and of the professional consultants serving with each unit had been invaluable in organizing the survey. Mrs. Charles Williams, Children's Theatre chairman, said that the three performances of "Tom Sawyer" drew, large, audiences. She spoke enthusiastic untiring efforts of Mrs. Graham McLeod, president of the Children's Theater board, and of Mrs.

E. L. Stamey, director, in making this past season such a successful one. Church Women Hear Mrs. King Mrs.

F. Horton of Hillsboro Street. Mrs. Abendroth is the former Miss Louise Horton. Miss Saravette Royster will arrive tomorrow from New York City the week end with her mother, Mrs.

Wilbur Royster at her home, 409 Hillsboro Street. Mrs. Ed V. Richardson of Wendell is recuperating at McPherson Hospital in Durham following an eye operation. She is able to receive visitors.

Junior Club Holds April Meeting The Raleigh Junior Woman's Club April meeting Tuesday night at the Woman's Club building was highand lighted new by the member's annual program. sub-junior burlesque of a Junior Woman's Club business entitled "Behind the Iron was by the sub-juniors. Sessions will get underway in the Grill Room at Graham Memorial at 10:30 this morning when the plan of organization will be discussed. The luncheon session will be held at the Monogram Club at 1 o'clock, and the dinner meeting will be held tonight at 6 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Marjorie Campbell, national discussed by Dr. Jane Wooten, with individual members volunteering to canvas the club's assigned area in Raleigh. Crosby to Select Girl' Hollywood movie star Bing Crosby will select the North Carolina Lambda Chi Alpha Crescent Girl to be presented at the annual fourchapter fraternity dance at the Hope Valley Country Club April 29. Members of the four fraternity chapters at State, Wake Forest, Duke and Chapel Hill have submitted photographs to Crosby to be judged. The winner will be crowned during intermission ceremonies at the formal dance. Approximately six hundred Lambda Chis and their dates, alumni, and honored guests swill attend the Hope Valley dance. Pat Gill of Raleigh, social chairman of the Lambda Chi Alpha chapter at Duke University, is in charge of arrangements for the dance.
