remaining Dave Wallace the University of Oklahoma's 172-pound quarterback kicked a 19-yard field goal on fourth down to break a 7-7 deadlock and give the Sooners a 10-7 edge over Texas today Although the Sooners outplayed the Cadets throughout the game the stubborn Aggie line continually turned back Oklahoma scoring bids It looked as if the game would end in a deadlock after both teams threatened fast alert hard-charging Northwestern team scored a smashing 28-0 vic tory over Wisconsin today Northwestern held the dominant hand through most of the hot after noon put over a touchdown in the second period and added three more in the wild action-packed final quarter The surprising Wildcats got un der way in the second period in a drive that carried 61 yards Passes and an end sweep advanced to the 16 After a series of line thrusts Vic Schwall rammed one yard for a touchdown Schwall converted then and on the three other occa sions The Cats began an 86-yard trek late in the third quarter Getting up momentum in a sequence on power plays they stepped up the pace when Aschenbrenner hurled a 27-yard pass to Wiltgen Aschenbrenner and Ralph Everist carried forward along the ground to the teams to wear down a heavier Syracuse eleven which was short of replacements 20-14 It was the second straight week that Dartmouth had used its two team system to offset a weight disadvantage A crowd of 10000 fans saw the Indians spoil the first inva sion of New Hampshire by Syracuse in 26 years When Syracuse threatened to score the equalizing touchdown late in the fourth period Dartmouth's two-platoon system came up with final whopping payoff It was delivered by Herb Carey freshly substituted back who snatched a Syracuse pass near his 25 and pouring on steam pulled Dartmouth out of John Stungis added the extra points that completed a mis erable afternoon for the defending champions of the West The renewal of the Buckeye' Trojan rivalry suspended since 1942 by war-time restrictions put USC down in the heap for later Rose Bowl selection and raised once-tied Oh id Slate as a national grid power The Buckeyes looked more like Bearcats when they began ripping the USC (Piggy) Barnes and other members of Ber-nie Moore's front line led the way to a second-period touchdown LSU smashed down the highly touted McWilliams again in the fourth period Shorty was bounced on
