CROSS SECTION OF OFFICIAL RETURNS FROM THE ELECTION IN WAKE COUNTY CONVENTION CIIY ment to the late Governor Charles Aycock on which he is also at work at this time The committee consisting of Messrs JohephuB Daniels Pcnrsnll and memberr of Governor Aycock's family who recently -visited the studio of Mr Borglum in Stamford Conn and spent three days with him there putting tho finishing touches on the statue report themselves as dolighted with the won-drefully vivid and lifelike representation of the State's "Exceptional Governor" The statue Is 7 1-2 feet high the same size as as the statue of Governor Vance which is in Statuary Hall Washington and which was also made by Mr Borglum On either sido fo the statue on a marble background will be panels in bas relief illustrating the history and spirit of North Carolina as influenced by Governor Ay- cock These are yet to be made but the members of the committee declare thnt if they are in keeping with the successful work done on the figure of Governor Aycock itself there will be no more distinguished public monument in North Carolina more than $80000 has been secured Growth of College Attention was called to the splendid growth of Atlantic the nominating committee of the national convention Their alternates are Bov Bichard Baghy and Bev Shampart To Meet at Raleigh The committee on time and place recommended that the next convention of the churches in North CuTi-Una be held at Raleigh nnd the convention heartily accepted the recommendation The special features of the convention today were addresses by Miss Daisy June Trout of St Louis Bev Quick of Atlanta and A Burch of China State Secretary Ware of Wilson made a splendid report of the years activity of all missionaries in the employ of the state convention He reporto eleven missionaries who have received $10571) during the year Besides this Mr Ware has led the churches in vigorous enmpaign on behalf of Atlantic Christian College and other special I undertakings In this
