THIS IS ONE OF TWO GIANT PAPERMAKING MACHINES Coosa River Newsprint companys new plant at Coosa Pines, Ala. is as long as a city block of moderate size. The paper is seen emerging as a broad white sheet in the left foreground.

The Coosa River company uses slash pine, of which the South has tremendous supplies, in the manufacture of paper. That operation opens to The Star and other United newspapers a new source of supply of newsprint made in this country. This issue of The Star is printed on Coosa River paper. An overwhelming preponderance of newsprint used in the United States is manufactured inCanada, where Canadian spruce is the principal raw material. Dr.

George J. Conley, 77 years old, a founder of the Lakeside hospital and the Kansas City College of Osteopathy and Surgery, died last night in Oberlin, after suffering a heart attack. Dr. Conley was on the way from Kansas City to Chipita Park, Colo. He was traveling with Dr.

John Rummel and his' wife. Dr. Carlotta Rummel. and had planned a rest at their home in Chipita Park. Ill a Short Time.

Ill about two months. Dr. Conley for several weeks had lived at the home of his physician, Dr. William R. Jasper, 3034 Harrison street.

He previously lived i at the Montrose hotel and before1 that in the Briarcliff addition' in Clay County. I He died about 7:25 o'clock last! night, shortly after arriving in had offices with Dr. Oberlin. The death occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs.

Guy Alien, friends of the Rummels. The Rummels and Dr. Conley left Kansas City about 8:30 oclock yesterday morning. Born in Paxton. 111., Dr.

Conley attended high school in Larned, and Purdue university. He was unable to continue his college course after the financial panic in 1894 and held jobs as a coal mine laborer and railroad clerk. When he was 23 years old he became ill with a lung condition and an injury to a leg. He regained his health under treatment from an osteopath and was so impressed with that profession he decided to take it up as a career. Medical Degree In 190I.

In 3901 he was graduated from the old Central College of Osteopathy here and in 1902 took a medical degree. lie had been a physician here since his graduation from the osteopathic school. 'He was one of the founders in 1916 of the Kansas City College of Osteopathy and Surgery and president of that institution until 1941. ln 1942 he established the Lakeside hospital. Dr.

Conley lounded this Institution at Twenty-ninth street and Flora avenue as an establishment for particular use by osteopathic surgeons. He felt the need for such a place and was president and chief of staff of the hospital. Devoting almost all of his adult life to his intense interest in osteopathic surgery, Dr. Conley received many honors. He was a past president of the American Osteopathic society, the Missouri State Osteopathic society, and Psi Sigma Alpha, professional fraternity.

Listed In Whos Who. He was a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and a member of Iota Tau Sigma, another professional group. In 1914 he established the Southwestern Osteopathic sanitarium in Blackwell, Ok. Dr. Conley is listed in Who's Who and has been a member of the Kansas City Club.

Until ten days ago he had been, active on the faculty staff at the Kansas City College of Osteopathy and Surgery, participating, in a special teaching program.
