Vandervoort Is Recovering. One girl was crushed to death and two men injured as uhe result of a wreck at the Rock Island crossing at Third and Davies street at 1 :32 this morning when an auto carrying four young people returning from a party at a road-house crashed into the second section of the Golden State Limited. The girl who was instantly killed was unidentified. Her body is at Mercy hospital. Efforts to learn her name were unsuccessful as other members.

Scott, his fight to dodge the gallows won, was leaving Chicago in the custody of deputy sheriffs for the Chester insane asylum, there appeared at the detective bureau an old work-worn man whose interest in Scott's case was next to that of Scott's family and Scott himself.
