The penalties on each count of the indictment are imprisonment in the penitentiary of not less than six months and not more than three years, and a fine of not less thau $1,000 and not more than $5,000, and to be forever debarred from holding under the United States government any office of honor, trust or profit. A motion for a new trial was made by Joyce's counsel which will be argued next week. The motion for a new trial in the case of John L. Bittinger, who was convicted some days ago for making fraudulent vouchers as U. S.
