But her co-workers would not allow it to be Just another day and presented her with surprises including a carnation corsage which she proudly wore as she performed her duties as a Mrs.

It was just a few months ago that the Morehead Cup national team of four championship was won by Chares Peres and Dan a a This week we have something for the children. It is a duck Easter basket and may be made by the pre-teens, teens or by mother. It may servo as a room decoration after the eggs have all been eaten, or it will make an excellent place to store treasures such as crayons, erasers and pencils or jewelry. You will need a half-gallon bleach bottle, yellow plastic bags, pipe cleaners, a 3-inch foam ball, a plastic flower, inch thick styrofoam (a small piece, about wide hy about long), of wide orange ribbon, gold rickrack, or braid, a piece of thin, pliable, but sturdy cardboard, a small scrap of white felt and one of orange felt, orange spray paint and a pair of plastic eyes.

I will give the directions for making the patterns of the eyes, beak, feet and bonnet first. 1. a rectangle Round off one of the narrow ends. 2. a dotted perpendicular line that is long.

At the bottom of your dottled line draw a solid line long that is at a right angle to the first line. Center the short line so that half of it is on each side of the longer line. Now, parallel to this short line draw a second dotted line, v'th half of this line on each side of the first dotted line. This last line will be long and will be one below the top of the first dotted line. Draw a curving line from the right end of the second dotted line down to the right end of the short solid line that is parallel to it.

Draw a curving line from the left end of the same dotted line down to the left end of the solid line. Draw a curving line from the right end of the second dotted line to the top of the first dotted line and continue over to the left end of the second dotted line. Erase both dotted lines. Notice that you have a shape that is quite similar to a flower basket. This is the shape of the beak.

3. a tulip shape that is wide and long from heel to the end of the center point. Remember how you drew a tulip in school? You drew a curving shape and then drew points across the top. TTiere were two half points and one full point, witti the full point in the middle. 4.

a rectangle long and wide. Round both corners at the ends of one long side. Cut an opening in the front of your bleach bottle. This will be the side opposite the handle. This will be the opening into which you will put shredded grass or plastic for a nest for Easter eggs.

Be sure the bottle is thoroughly clean. The bottom of the opening is straight and is cut about two inches above tlw bottom of your bottle. This cut will be long. Now cut up both sides to about one inch below the crease in the bottle. Cut a curving line across the top of the opening from the end of one side up to the center at the crease and down to the end of the other side.

Cut the yellow plastic bags into strips about wide and long. Make into pompons tying bunches of strips together with a pipe cleaner and fluffing out. Punch a hole at one end of the bottom of the opening, about W' below the opening. Insert the ends of the. pipe cleaner into this hole and open them out on the inside of the bottle so they will hold the pom securely to the bottle.

Repeat this process about every all around the opening. This will make a nice fringe. Place an extra two poms just above the fringe at the top of the opening. One pom is centered just above the two. Fasten the plastic flower in the center of this group of poms.

Make a hole in the foam ball and force it over the neck of the bleach bottle. The instructions will be completed tomorrow. of Chicago, and Steve Altman and Mike Becker of New York. Peres and Rotman are in their thirties; Altman and Becker are each 24. Some evidence of their dashing style can be gleaned from the accompanying hand which arose when Altman and Becker encountered Paul Hodge and John Gerber in the semifinal round of the Morehead.

Gerber has served as non-playing captain of the American International team three times, and both he and Hodge have played for the United States for the world championship. Gerber opened third hand with three clubs. After two passes Altman doubled for takeout. Gerber redoubled to indicate a very good three club bid, but Becker and Alt- man not only accepted the redouble by passing but also proceeded to exact the maximum penalty. West led the ace of spades followed by the king, thus identifying a doubleton, and shifted to the queen of hearts.

When declarer followed low from dummy East played his lowest heart, the six, in this way suggesting that West shift his attack elsewhere. Showing full confidence in partner, West switched to the king and another diamond. East took the ace, cashed the queen of spades, and returned his last spade. The outcome was that Gerber, who had started with what seemed to be seven invincible trump tricks, now had to lose a trick to ten and went down poinis. We had more fun gadding and gabbing this We sauntered out to South 53rd Street the 1900 block to see who was doing what in the neighborhood.
