The Gazette and Daily, York, COUNTY Wednesday Morning, October 16, 1957 Creditors To Act On Bankrupt Sale Real estate and personal property of 0. H. Hostetter, Builder, Hanover, will be put on auction block if creditors approve at meeting scheduled Oct. 23. Hanover Public sale of the real estate and personal property of O.

H. Hostetter, Builder, bankrupt, will be conducted Nov. a 12, providing the creditors approve the action at a meeting at 3 p.m. Oct. 23.

Walter H. Compton, referee in bankruptcy for the U. S. Middle District court, has sent out notices of the creditors' meeting which will be held in the federal courtroom of the U.S. post office building in Harrisburg.

If the creditors approve the public sale, it will be held at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 12 on the Hostetter firm's premises at 249 West Chestnut street. The real estate consists of a tract of land improved with a concrete block warehouse, office building and storage building. The personal property, includes office furniture and equipment; stock in trade, machinery and equipment, and motor vehicles.

John Neary John Neary, 64, a veteran of World War was found dead yesterday morning in bed at his home, 312 Fourth street. Coroner Lester J. Sell said death occurred about 6:15 a. m. from acute coronary thrombosis.

A son of the late Samuel and Julia Ann Miller Neary, he was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran church and Friendship Bible class. His wife, Mrs. Mamie M. Neary, died April 16, 1951.

Surviving are: A son, J. Rupert Neary, Reisterstown, two grandchildren and four sisters and brothers, Mrs. Annie Myers, York; Mrs. Emma Pfaff, 120 Locust street; George Neary, Gulfport, and Charles E. Neary, 19 York street.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p. m. at the Wetzel Funeral home, Carlisle street. His pastor, Rev. Howard J.

McCarney, will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery. PTA Meeting Dr. U.

L. Monteleone, local dentist, spoke on health foods and benefits of fluoridated drinking water in reducing dental deficiencies last night at the first fall meeting of Hanover Street School PTA. The business meeting was in charge of Mrs. Walter Maust, president. About 100 persons attended.

Fire Drills Conducted At Schools In Dover Dover--Fire drills were conducted at the Dover Area Elementary and Dover Area High schools last week as part of Fire Prevention Week activities. The 900 students at Dover High were evacuated in two minutes, while the elementary school's 835 pupils were evacuated in one minute and 50 seconds. Three pieces of equipment were standing by at each school. About 250 children of the area were given rides on the two pumpers of the local company. The company participated in the Manchester demonstration and also in the move-up operations.

Fuhrman, New Freedom RD 1, was among 363 young men throughout the nation who received the American Farmer degree during ceremonies yesterday at the 30th annual convention of the Future Farmers of America at Kansas City, Mo. Charles Fuhrman, also reside at New Freedom RD 1. Former president Harry S. Truman was among those who received the honorary American Farmer degree, the Associated Press reported. Beneficial Assn. Asks OK To Dissolve Hanover St.

Joseph's Roman' Catholic Beneficial association of Hanover Monday petitioned common pleas court at York to approve its dissolution as a nonprofit organization. The association was chartered by the county court Nov. 16, 1885. Judge Walter I. Anderson fixed 10 a.m., time for hearing on the petition.

The group has 13 members and cash assets of $4,266.11, according to a statement filed by Attorney Jesse L. Crabbs. Action to dissolve the organization was voted at a meeting Oct. 1 attended by nine of the 13 members. The 13 members who are eligible to share in the distribution of the assets were listed as follows: Charles E.

Samuel Snyder, York Rite Festival Of Hanover Masonic Groups Is Launched Hanover The eighth annual York Rite Festival of local Masonic organizations opened last night with conferring degrees on a class of candidates of Royal Arch Chapter 310 in the Masonic hall. The annual religious service will be held Sunday at 7 p.m.

Amanda S. Miller Doll, 85, wife of the late Alfred Doll, died at 4:30 a.m. yesterday at the home of her son-inlaw and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. C.

B. Musser, Mt. Wolf RD 1, near here. Mrs. Doll, a resident of this area for 60 years, was born in Dover township, a daughter of the late David and Sarah Gross Miller.

She was a member of St. Paul's EUB church and Sunday school. Surviving, in addition to her daughter, are a son, Samuel D. Doll, Manchester RD nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren an a brother, John Miller, this place. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:30 p.m.

at the Zeigler Funeral home. Her pastor, Rev. John H. Ness, will officiate. Interment will be in Manchester Union cemetery.

Boy To Vie With 5 Girls In County Apple Dessert Contest Slated Today One boy and five girls all champions of their respective high school apple dessert contests, will vie for the York county title today at 4:30 p.m. at Metropolitan Edison company building, York. Donald Stambaugh won the contest at Northern High school, Dillsburg. The following girls won their school titles: Georgia Weigle, Central, North York; Judith Brown, Kennard-Dale, Fawn Grove; Harriett Shelley, Northeastern, Manchester; Nancy Jones, Spring Grove, and Pauline Landis, Susquehannock near Glen Rock.

Bamford Heads Arcadian Club Richard M. Bamford succeeds Robert R. Luckie as president at group's 82nd annual banquet. Hanover--Richard M. Bamford was elected president of Hanover Arcadian club last night during the 82nd annual banquet at Hanover Country club, Abbottstown.

He succeeds Robert R. Luckie. Other officers named were: William B. Krebs, first vice-president; Albert E. Honess, second vice-president; Warren E.

Anderson, secretary, and Leslie V. Savino, treasurer. A total of 216 persons attended. Births To Mr. and Mrs.

Unit To Meet At Hanover Junction Hanover Junction Darlene Brenneman will be leader for a meeting of the Christian Endeavor society of Shaffer's Union church at the church Sunday at 6 p.m. Services listed for the church Sunday are: Sunday school 9:15 a.m., and United Church of Christ service 10:15. Altar flowers at Lutheran services last Sunday were given by Mr. and Mrs. Henry Boose in honor of their 25th wedding anniversary.

The church bulletins were sponsored in memory of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Warner by the family. Flowers also were placed in memory of Mr. and Mrs.

Charles Warner, by the children, and in honor of Mrs. Lestie Heindel, by her children, on the occasion of her 82nd birthday anniversary. A new hard surface road in Shaffer's Union cemetery has been completed at a cost of $1,500. A special offering will be received at the Lutheran communion services Oct. 27 to help liquidate the debt.

Communion services will be held at 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Mrs. Guy F. Brodbeck, wife of a local electrical contractor, is a patient at York hospital.

Spring Grove- -The annual covered dish social of the Mothers' class of Mt. Zion Church of Christ Sunday school will be held this evening at 6:30 o'clock in the church social room. Plans for the fall and winter months will be outlined at a meeting after the social. Church Notes The Urey sisters will provide special musical selections at the Mission Week service tonight at Christ (Roth's) Lutheran church, Jackson township. The junior choir of the church will sing Thursday evening.

Rev. Carl F. Kaltreider, missioner, will speak on at the Mission Week services tonight at St. Paul's Lutheran church. Sportsmen's Club Meets Plans for a public fish fry Sunday, Nov.

17, at 1 p. m. were completed by Spring Grove Sportsmen's club at a meeting Monday. The event will be held at the club farm. Tickets will be sold by members.

The Oct. 28 meeting will be postponed. Next session scheduled Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the club farm.

Borough Briefs Jesse Zeigler, 74 North Main street, is reported improved from an illness which kept him confined to his home. Weikert, Veteran Littlestown Bank Director, Dies Littlestown Charles M. Weikert, 76, of West King street, a charter member of the board of directors, of president Littlestown of the board State of managers of Mt. Carmel Cemetery association, died yesterday at 11 a.m. in the Annie M. Warner hospital, Gettysburg, where he was a patient four weks.

A son of the late G. Amos and Catherine Kohler Weikert, he established a bakery business in the community in 1926 and was joined by his son, Charles W. Weikert, in the business in 1940. Mr. Weikert retired in 1955.

A life member of St. Paul's Lutheran church and Sunday school, he was a charter member and former president of Littlestown Rotary club. Mr. Weikert was affiliated with Patmos Lodge 348, Tree and Accepted Masons, Hanover, and Littlestown Independent Order of Odd Fellows. His wife, Mrs.

Nora Stover Weikert, died in January, 1941. Surviving are: Four children, Mrs. Howard C. Trostle, this place, Mrs. Walter A.

Wahler, Oaklyn, N. Charles W. Weikert, at home, and Philip M. Weikert, Arnold, and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m.

Collecting Coin Cards Weigelstown- -Coin cards which were distributed several months ago by Weigelstown Fire company are now being collected, according to Fire Chief Arthur Weigel, Money collected will be used to defray operating expenses of the fire company. 012,16,19 Mrs. Annie R. Spangler, 82, Former Lewisberry Area Resident, Succumbs Lewisberry Mrs. Annie R. Spangler, Mechanicsburg RD 2, a former resident of this area, died at 8 a.

m. yesterday in Hursh Convalescent home, York Springs, after a brief illness. She was 82. Mrs. Spangler was the wife of the late Harry Spangler.

Surviving are two grandchildren, Mrs. James Pennoyer, Camp Hill RD, and Dale E. Spangler, Mechanicsburg RD 2, and two great granddaughters. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p. m.

at the Erney Funeral home. Rev. C. H. Heiges, a retired Church of God minister of Carlisle, will officiate.

Interment will be in St. John's cemetery. Dover Solons To Get Sewer Plans Monday meeting. County-Wide 4-H Halloween Party Scheduled Friday A county-wide 4-H Halloween party will be held Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the Lincolnway Fire company building on Market street, west of York.

The guests will be costumed and masked. Games and square dancing will feature the evening's entertainment. Each family is asked to bring either gingerbread or a pumpkin pie. Dover--Final plans for the local sewer system will be presented by William E. Sees, Harrisburg engineer, at a special meeting of Dover borough council Monday evening at 7:30 o'clock at the new pump house.
