Hanover The local residential campaign in the annual York County United Fund drive will open at a kickoff rally tomorrow at 9 a.m. in the YWCA auditorium. A film highlighting drive activities will be shown and instructions to workers will be in charge of Harry C. Koenig and Reuben Becker, general co-chairmen of the Hanover division, and Mrs. Harry W.

Campbell, chairman of the residential campaign. Serving as ward chairmen are: First Ward, Mrs. Frank R. Wil-helm; Second Ward, Mrs. Charles Peyser; Third Ward, Mrs.

Bright, in charge of the local drive headquarters, said yesterday approximately $15,000 has been reported to date towards the Hanover division goal of The division includes Heidelberg, Manheim, Penn and West Manheim townships in addition to Hanover. Spring Grove Allen Luckenbaugh was elected superintendent of the adult department of St. Peter's (Lischey's) Union Sunday school at a recent reorganization meeting. Joel S. Geiman Joel Samuel Geiman, 75, Spring Grove RD 1, Jackson township, died Sunday at 11:10 p.m. at Hanover General hospital where he was admitted Oct. 9. He retired in 1940 as employe at Sheppard Diesel company, Hanover.

Mr Geiman, a son of the late Samuel and Sevilla Huggens Geiman, was a charter member of Goodwill Fire company Grange-ville. His wife. Mrs. Grace C. Walt-man Geiman, died in March, 1936.

Mrs. Curvin Beck and Ezra Geiman, both of Hanover. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Bucher Funeral home, Frederick street, Hanover. Rev.

John L. Parry, pastor of Trinity Church of the Naza-rene, Hanover, will officiate. Interment will be in Christ United Church of Christ cemetery, near VFW To Meet Tonight Plans for the annual community Veterans' Day observance will be made by Private Allen J. Becks Post 52Q5, VFW, at a meeting tonight at 7:30 in the post home. The observance will be held Sunday.

Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. in junior high school auditorium, North East street. A meeting of the Home association follow the post session. Refreshments will be served.

St. Paul's Notes Harvest Home services were held Sunday at St. Paul's Lutheran church. Altar flowers were placed in memory of Clair E. Zartman, by the family.

While in Hanover Mrs. Tiruchel-. vam will visit the cerebral palsy school in York and will be guest speaker at an assembly program in Eichelberger Senior High school tomorrow at 1 p.m.

Mrs. Tiruchelvam will be attired in native dress. The meeting at the chapter home tomorrow evening has been arranged for the visitor to discuss Junior Red Cross activities with school personnel and to meet with other persons in this area. The public is invited. G'burg Symphony Orchestra Opens Season Thursday Gettysburg The initial concert of the fall and winter season of the 85-piece Gettysburg Symphony orchestra will be presented Thursday at 8:30 p.m.

Investiture Rites Held By Brownies Eleven girls and new commit-teewoman invested during ceremonies at Jefferson. Jefferson Eleven girls and a new troop committeewoman were invested at ceremonies held by Brownie Scout Troop 175. Mrs.

Richard Brillhart is the new committeewoman. The girls were: Linda Brillhart, Lorraine Doll, Donna Dubs, Connie Edris, Carol Luckenbaugh, Shirley Myers, -Anna and Donna Parrish, Carla Karen Snyder and. Bonita Trump. Brownie Hollow was the name selected for the new camp site. Donations for the Juliette Low World Friendship fund should be brought for for the meeting tomorrow.

Kimmel, 70, Retired Dillsburg Merchant, Succumbs Dillsburg Ira M. Kimmel, a retired merchant of this place, died at 10:15 a.m. yesterday at Carlisle hospital, where he had been a patient for two weeks. He was 70. Mr.

Kimmel, husband of Mrs. Adeline Bake Kimmel, formerly operated a farm implement store. He was a member of Dillsburg EUB church and Clinton Lodge. 209, and AM, Irvington, N. J.

Surviving, besides his wife, are two children, Ira M. Kimmel, Summit, N. and Mrs'. Henry Heitschel, Palmyra, N. two brothers, Norman R.

Kimmel, Harrisburg, and Maurice Kimmel, York; two' sisters, Mrs. Chester Bentz, Wellsville RD 1, and Mrs. Paul Cook, Dillsburg. Funeral services- will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Cocklin Funeral home.

His pastor. Rev. Robert E. Zuver, will officiate. Interment will be in Dillsburg cemetery.

Democratic Club Sets Meeting At Glen Rock Glen Rock Women's Democratic club of Southern York county will meet tonight at 8 o'clock at Community hall. Austin L. Grove Post 403, American Legion, has enrolled 117 members towards the 1960 campaign, according to a report submitted at a post meeting recently. Park P. Rohrbaugh, service officer, reported he has assisted 45 veterans of the Korean conflict to perpare their applications for state bonus.

Punitham Ti- ruchelvam, assistant director of the Junior Red Cross in Ceylon and wife of the solicitor general of that country, will be guests of Hanover Red Cross chapter at an open house in the chapter home, 256 York street, tomorrow from 7 to 8 p.m. Mrs. Tiruchelvam, who is a study visitor in this country, spent a month this summer in Toronto, Canada, where she participated in the International Junior Red Cross Study center activities. Courses Open Tonight Adult night courses will open this evening in Eichelberger Senior High school and will, continue for a 20-week period. All sessions will be held on Tuesdays from 7:45 to 9:45 p.m. Room assignments for the various courses have been announced by Richard Stottlemyer, assistant principal, as follows: Spanish, Room 202; combined practical and English literature class, Room 101; combined beginning and intermediate sewing.
