Husker Grid Srhedule Set Through 1986 PAIRINGS ANNOUNCED Nebraska athletic director Bob Devaney has announced the football schedule through 1986. During the 15-year stretch, Nebraska will play 41 games against teams from six major conferences, plus 20 against nine of the top independents. Appearing on the regular schedule for the first time will be USU in 1975, Alabama in 1977, California in 1978, New Mexico State in 1979, Florida State in 1980 and Auburn in 1981. In addition, some 1 rivalries will be renewed in the next 15 years. Nebraska plays a four-game series with Indiana starting in 1975, four game sets with Penn State and Iowa start in 1979, and home, and-home dates with Syracuse (198.3-84) and Illinois (1985-86) will be played.
