The Gazette and Daily, York, Monday Morning, February 13; 1956 Shrewsbury S. S. Class Conducts Annual Election Shrewsbury Mrs. Jean Eit-2ert was elected president of the Fireflies class of Christ Lutheran Sunday school at a recent meeting. Other officers chosen were: Mrs.

Hazel Frank, vice-president; Mrs. Helen McClain, secretary; Mrs. Janet Taylor, assistant; Mrs. Doris Young, treasurer; Mrs. Delores Miller, assistant; Mrs.

Frances Mowery, pianist, and Mrs. Lyrian Trout, assistant. Mrs. Thelma Wolfe had charge of the program during which games were played and prizes awarded to Mrs. Wolfe, Mrs.

El-wood Moreland and Mrs. Jean Eit-zer. Hostesses were Mrs. Lois Bos-tic, Mrs. Helen Hoffman and Mrs.

Lyrian Trout. A covered dish supper will be held at the next meeting March 1 at 6:30 p.m. at the parish house. Members are asked to bring covered dishes. Hostesses will be Mrs.

Jean Eitzert, Mrs. Helen McClain and Mrs. Hazel Frank. Refreshments were served to 11 members. York Haven PTA Has Founders' Day Meeting York Haven A skit was presented at a recent meeting of York Haven Area Elementary PTA when Founders' Day was ob-sefved. Weigle Rites Held At Lewisberry Lewisberry Last rites for J. W. Weigle, husband of Mrs. Etta Weigle, Lewisberry RD 1, a retired school teacher, who died Thursday at Polyclinic hospital, Harrisburg, were held yesterday at the Erney Funeral home. Rev.

Daren L. Miller, pastor of Lewisberry Methodist church, officiated. Pallbearers were James Pennoyer, Kenneth Bertolett, W. D. Downs, Lewis Gladfelter, Lewis Mummert and Rasmus Basye.

Burial was in Chestnut Hill cemetery, near Mechanicsburg. 00 Saturday morning with prayers in her late home followed by a requiem mass in St. Joseph's Catholic The pastor, Rev. Charles E. Park, was celebrant.

Interment was in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Dale E. Kopp, James and William Brenner, Marlyn Weaver, Warren Carbaugh and Blanton G. Scheivert. Country Club Election William B.

Garver and J. Robert Fleming were re-elected to the board of directors of Hanover Country club and F. X. Rice and Michael B. Rebert were named new members to the board at the annual re-organizational meeting Friday night.

Officers elected were: John S. Hollinger, president; Raymond D. Rodman, vice president; Fred Kohler, secretary, and William Miller, treasurer. Cake Baking Competition A cake baking competition will be conducted by the Junior Chamber of Commerce this week in Sheets Brothers applicance center, 1000-block Carlisle street. Sessions, today through Friday, will be held for residents of the community starting at 9 a.m.

while afternoon sessions from 2 to 6 o'clock will be conducted by the Jay-Cees and their wives. Daily winners will be selected by judges from Carlisle, Gettysburg, York and Hanover. Cakes baked in the afternoon, Tuesday through Friday, will be sold at evening auctions and the proceeds given to Hanover Area Youth council. Fire At Bake Shop The insulation of an oven in the Masemer Bake shop, 219 York street, was damaged slightly by fire last night at 7:30 o'clock. Members of Eagle Fire company said the blaze was touched off by an overheated drive shaft bearing.
