WALTER 31SH0P Mrs. Mearl E. Bishop, 69 of Conyngham, died Saturday after noon on arrival at the St. Joseph Hospital.

She had been ill for five weeks. She was born in Hetlerville a daughter of the late Frease and Trances (Hons) Miller. The deceased lived for 49 years in one aiso uvea in Sugarloaf. Helen Faye Perko. 48, 1028 Seventh was discovered in the east branch of Briar Creek under a bridge in Briar Creek Township, Columbia County. State Police at Bloomsburg reported the victim was found lying face down in approximately 18 inches of water. She was pronounced dead at the The funeral of Mrs. Earl (Mabel) Good, Drums RD, who died Friday, was held this morning from the Krapf and Hughes Funeral Home.

The Rev. Henry I. Weitmann, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ, St. Johns, conducted the services.

Interment was in the St. Johns Cemetery. Pallbearers, all grandsons of the deceased, were David, Donald and Paul Lex and Stanley Good. United Church of Christ in Conyngham. Surviving are her husband, Walter; three daughters: Mrs.

Charles (Ruth) Watkins of Sugar City, Mrs. Robert (Virginia) Broyan of Drums; and Mrs. William (Nancy) Hargrave of Mace-don, N.Y.; a son, George of Drums; a brother, Clarence of Mifflin-ville; a sister, Mrs. Fannie Jones of Danville; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Death was attributed to accidental drowning. The woman's body was removed to Berwick Hospital where an autopsy was performed. Police theorized that Mrs. Perko was walking on Dickson Street when she tripped, fell down the embankment and into the water. Authorities indicated there was no evidence of foul play.

Escaped Murderer Captured in Easton A convicted murderer who had escaped last Thursday night from sheriff's deputies in front of the Berks County Prison near Reading was recaptured Saturday by Eas ton police in the basement of an Easton home. Apprehended was William De- Rohn, 23, who is serving a life term at the state correctional institution at Dallas. The prisoner was scheduled to appear today in Montgomery County Court as a witness for Daniel 1 Catasauqua, charged with inciting to riot at the state correctional institution at Graterford. Born in Taylor and a graduate of Taylor High School, he had operated a refrigeration business in this City for approximately 30 years.

Surviving are his wife, the for mer Mary Fox; two sons, William and Thomas, both of Scranton, and the following brothers and sisters: John, Philadelphia; Robert, Dallas; Francis, Sebastapol; Mrs. Cather ine Kearney, Ossining. N.Y.; Mr.j. Mary Andrews and Mrs. Margaret Thomas, both of Sebastapol.

HISNEY John S. 'Hisney, 68, of 1502 Monroe York, formerly of Spring Grove, died at 2:50 a.m. Saturday in the York Hospital, where he had been a patient two days. Born in Pittston, he was a on of the late Peter and Mary Patra-sek Hisney, and was a member of the Lutheran Church, Spring Grove. He was proprietor of John's Barber Shop in York for 30 years.

His wife, the former Rhoda Smith, died on May 10, 1964. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Catherine Askler, of Baltimore, Mrs. Sophia Skurkey, of Wet Hazleton, and Mrs. Anna Kroscav-age, Danville; a brother, Peter Hisney, of this city; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Spring Grove, with the Rev. Joseph W. Seitz officiating.

Herring 37. of 202 Ewell Gettysburg, formerly of Coaldale, died Saturday in Hershey Medical Center, Her-shey. A member of the state police unit at Gettysburg since 1964, Herring graduated from the Pennsylvania State Police Training School in 1959. He was previously stationed in the York and Cham-bersburg area and had an earlier tour of duty in Gettysburg. Born in Coaldale, he was a son of Harold Sr.

and Rose Herring, Coaldale. A Navy veteran, he was a member or Gettysburg United Methodist Church, Gettysburg. Surviving with his wife, the former Mary Lou DeVivio, and parents are a son Michael and a daughter, Deborah, both at home; and a brother Robert, Lancaster. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Church of the Abiding Presence, Gettysburg.

Rupp, 82, of 545 Green Berwick, died in her home late Friday afternoon. She had been in ill health the past year. Born Oct. 28, 1890, in Sugarloaf Valley, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Sara (Siegfried) Shiner. She had lived in Berwick most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Kreischer, in 1943, and by her second husband, Russell R. Rupp, in 1967. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Catawissa. Surviving are one son, Herbert Kreischer, Berwick, four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Russell Shiner, Luzerne, and Alonzo Shiner, Berwick; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held this afternoon from the James L.

Hinckley Funeral Home, Berwick, with the Rev. Samuel O. Rarick, pastor of the Catawissa Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial was in St. Paul's Cemetery, Sugarloaf.
