An informal meeting of the city health board was held yesterday afternoon for the purpose of introductory discussion of measures for the carrying out of the regulations for compulsory vaccination as Imposed In the Provincial Act, which went Into effect Jan. HI, and for obtaining larger powers for the city health officer in his war upon impure milk and other foodstuffs. Definite plant: will be formulated at the next regular meeting for presentation to the city council. An order authorized by full committee will be Issued for general vaccination throughout the city and a public station or stations will be established where people may be vaccinated free of charge. Ir.

I'agan, secretary of the Provincial Bnard of Health, was present and urged the committee to do all in theii power to enforce compliance with the act. Ho strongly advocated that each person should be vaccinated In three oi four different places, thus rendering them immune from exposure tu any form of smallpox. Organization of Local Po litical Equality League Branch Is Complete The women of Vancouver are now prepared to advance in ordered ranks upon the strongholds of conservatism to demand the ballot.

Working quietly, but with commendable dispatch, the machinery has now been got in order, and the possesses an organized society for the advancement of women's political status. The second public meeting of the Vancouver branch of the B. C. Political Equality League was held yesterday afternoon. A brief address from the chair opened the meeting.

Mrs. Hall the president touched upon tho importance of proper organization and business methods in the conduct of the league's work, and the prime necessity for an educational campaign which should reach through the members themselves to the general public. The recording secretary, Mrs. Cross field, read the minutes the previous meeting, and of two meetings of the executive which had occured in the Interim. A constitution which had hcon drafted by the executive was them submitted for discussion, amendment and approval by the members.

With one or two minor changes, It was found satisfactory and adopted. KOIIRTH General prosperity Is success in Itself.
