Andrew Sanchez Mr. Sanchez, 55, a resident of Charlotte, NC, for 31 years, passed away on August 22, 2009, at Presbyterian Hospital. He was born on April 30, 1954, in Bakers- field, CA.

Keith McKenzie Palmer Ken, 47, of Charlotte, loving husband and father, left this world on August 22, 2009, after a valiant battle with cancer. His positive attitude was conta- gious and felt by all. Ken was a Vice President at Bank of America where he worked for the last 24 years. He was a deacon at Sardis Presbyte- rian Church and active in orga- nizing the basketball program.

Otto Richard Stutts Toad Stutts, 89, of Charlotte, died Monday, August 24, 2009, at Hospice House of Cabarrus County in Kannapolis, NC. Sugar Creek with the Reverend Linda Bowman and Mr. Dick Tubbs officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, at McEwen Funeral Service, Derita Chapel, 6300 Mallard Creek Road.

Born June 10, 1920, in Derita, to the late Monroe Jackson and Leckie Belle Ballard Stutts, he was a graduate of Derita High School. During World War II, Toad was a Corporal in the 14th Aerodrome Squadron of the 13th Air Force in the Southwest Pa- cific area. After his serving in the Air Force, he played semi-pro- fessional baseball in the Char- lotte Industrial League. Toad retired in 1979 after a career as a self-employed heating and air conditioning mechanic. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Stutts, and by his son Karl Stutts.

Toad sang in the church choir and, along with Juanita, served as an advisor to the young people of the church for several years. Survivors include his son, Norman Stutts and his wife, Rita, of Charlotte; a sister, Margaret Benton of Monroe, NC; two grandsons, Kenneth Stutts and his wife, Bree, of Youngsville, NC, and Kevin Stutts of Reston, VA; a step-grandson, James Berge of Columbia, SC; two great-granddaughters, Destiny and Hannah Stutts of Youngs- ville; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family especially thanks Hospice Palliative Care of Cabarrus County for their ten- der loving care and, in lieu of flowers, would like for any me- morial donations to be made to Hospice Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5005 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081. Constantine George Koutris ASHEVILLE Mr. Koutris, 72, of Candler, NC, died August 23, 2009, at the Levine and Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC, battling with disease. Born in Thessaloniki, Greece, on March 6, 1937, Mr.

Koutris was the son of the late George and Aphrodite Papado- poulos Koutris of Domiani Evry- tanias Greece. He was also pre- ceded in death by in-laws Rev. and Mrs. O.P. Ledford, and grand-daughter Elena Aphrodite Pistiolis.

After attending school in Greece, he went to the police academy in Athens and became a policeman. He came to the United States in 1964 and at- tended Mars Hill College. Mr. Koutris was a very hard worker in the restaurant business in Asheville and surrounding com- munities for over 40 years. He opened his first restaurant, the Big Apple, on Swannanoa River in Asheville, NC, after work- ing for Colonial Bakery, and then he co-founded the Burgerland Restaurants of Candler, Asheville, Brevard, Fletcher, Hendersonville, and Arden.

Mr. Koutris was also co-owner of the Asheville Speedway during the Richard Petty era. Mr. Koutris loved to fish and hunt before his illness. Constantine was an active member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Asheville, as well as a past Parish Council President, and a member of the Ahepa Association.

He was a former Vice-President of the Na- tional Evrytanian Association, the Domianitis Association, and the Fidakia Association. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Margaret Ledford Koutris of Candler; daughter Aphrodite (Dee Dee) Pistiolis and husband, Konstantinos (Gus) Pistiolis of Matthews; five grandchildren, Serafim (Mike), Margarita, Ma- ria, George and Nicoletta; sisters, Katina Koutris Zoumbos and husband, Christos Zoumbos of Candler, Niki Koutris Papanico- laou and husband, George Papa- nicolaou of Athens, Greece, Ma- ria Koutris Hamberis and hus- band, Theodore Hamberis of Athens, Greece, brothers-in-law Johnny Ledford and wife, Dot of Mt. Holly, NC, Buddy Ledford and wife, June of Canton, NC, George Ledford and wife, Peggy of Candler, NC, James Ledford and wife, Brenda of Canton, NC; sister-in-law, Betty Kuykendall of Florida; aunt, Joan Aliferis of Asheville; uncle, Jimmy Pappas and wife, Helen of Asheville, NC; aunt, Stavroula Gouvas of Greece; and several nieces and nephews and cousins in NC and in Greece. Godchildren of Mr. Koutris are Georgia Gilman Bendo, Kosta Sakkas, Eleni and Peggy Fragopoulos, Margarita Vlamis, Antonia Ginis, Panayi- otis Thanos, namesake Constan- tine Thanos and very special friend George Thanos.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice of Asheville, Hospice of Charlotte, to the staff and Dr. Janet Crook MD at Levine Dickson Hos- pice House of Huntersville, Dr. Andrea Diedrich MD and espe- cially Dr. Peter Copsis MD for his wonderful care and concern to our family. A Trisagion will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 25th, 2009, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral at 600 East Boulevard, Charlotte, NC.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 at the Cathedral. Interment will follow at Evergreen Ceme- tery in Charlotte, NC. Marvin Ray Williams MONROE Mr. Williams, 89, of Wesley Chapel went to join his Heavenly Father on Sunday, Au- gust 23, 2009.

He was born on February 7, 1920, in Union County. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Parker and the late Mr. and Mrs.

T. A. Williams. A graduate of Wesley Chapel High School, Mr. Williams re- tired from Lance, Pineville, but always continued his farm- ing.

During WWII, he served as a Corporal in the Anti-Tank Company of the 169th U.S. Army Infantry in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre and was awarded The Asiatic-Pacific Campaign medal. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and is remembered as a beloved Dea- con, Sunday School Director, and faithful supporter of the church. Ray is predeceased in death by his wife of more than 63 years, Iola Ingram Williams. Those surviving to cherish his memo- ries are his daughters and their husbands: Barbara and Doug Moore of Wesley Chapel, NC, and Janice and Gay Privette of Indian Trail, NC.

He is also survived by four loving grand- sons and their families: Dr. Spen- cer Moore and his wife Dr. Ana Teixeira of Kingston, Canada; Timothy R. Moore, and his wife Lydia of Advance, NC; Drew Privette and his wife Jennifer serving with the International Mission Board in Southeast Asia; John Privette and his wife Rebecca of Orrum, NC. He has nine great grandchildren: Jael and Emma Moore, Rose, Lila and Caswell Moore, James, Luke and Asa Privette, and Ella Ray Priv- ette.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews and two nieces who have been special to his heart: Brenda Hilton and Pat Davis and her husband Gale. He is also survived by one brother- in-law Graham Helms of Mon- roe. He is also predeceased by his sisters and brothers Mrs. Letha Helms, Mrs. Floy Stevenson of Monroe, NC, Mrs.

Ruth Duncan of South Mills, NC, Neal Wil- liams, Ellis Williams, Furman Williams, and Vann Williams of Monroe, NC; and Heath Wil- liams of Kannapolis, NC. Marie Thompson WAXHAW Mrs. Thompson, of Waxhaw, NC, formerly from Fort Lauderale, FL, and Gryms Hill, Staten Island, NY, passed away early Sunday morning, Au- gust 23, 2009, at Presbyterian Hospital in Matthews, NC. She leaves behind her son, Joseph Thompson and her lov- ing daughter-in-law GiGi Thompson of Waxhaw, whom she loved as a daughter; also her two granddaughters, Lauren and Erin Thompson of Waxhaw. The family acknowledges her friend and nurse, Markey Laney, for love and care over the last years of her life. Markey brought her much happiness.

Helen Setzer Neville NEWTON Mrs. Neville, 82, went to be home with the Lord, Monday, August 24, 2009. She was born April 9, 1927, in New- ton, NC, a daughter of the late John Fay Setzer and Adalea Sigmon Setzer. Helen attended Business School in Newton. Upon gradua- tion, she relocated to Charlotte, where she worked in the War Assets Administration.

Later, she served faithfully as secretary to the Vice President of Univer- sal CIT Financial Services for 37 years. Helen is survived by her lov- ing husband of 62 years, Leon Neville of the home. Helen, a former member of East Avenue Tabernacle ARP Church of Charlotte, NC, served her Lord. She served as a Sunday school teacher, was a lifetime member of her circle as well as their leader, a youth leader, and a founder of the St. Andrews Class, a nursery worker, as well as serving on various commit- tees.

Helen loved working in her flowers and vegetable garden. She was known for her delicious fried chicken and potato salad. She was a voracious reader. In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her brother, John A. Setzer of Maiden, NC.

Surviving are daughters, Pam- ela Neville Rutledge and hus- band Mike of Claremont, and Debra Neville Ellenburg and husband Lyndon of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, include Brooks Rutledge of Sausalito, CA, Seth Rutledge and wife Allison of Cary, NC, and Cather- ine, Hannah, Emily, and Sarah Ellenburg of Anderson, SC; great-grandson, Preston Rut- ledge and great-granddaughter, Perry Rutledge, both of Cary, NC; sister, Peggy Setzer Walker of Newton, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was a devoted wife, loving mother, doting grand- mother, and loyal friend. A service celebrating the life of Helen will be held at Friend- ship United Methodist Church, Hwy. 16 South, Newton, NC, at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2009, with the Rev.

Brad Thie and the Rev. Dr. John Hill offici- ating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m.
