Although the often surly Scot won a major title he has finished second five times he enjoyed tremendous suc- cess in the Ryder Cup, being on the winning side five times in eight appearances with Europe. That record, combined with the respect he gets from best players, led to his selection Wednesday as captain for next competition in Wales. The Cowboys are looking into ways to disci- pline fine him for a profanity-laced YouTube video he put out this week on his own channel Marty TV, according to two sources. In the video, Ben- nett did a freestyle rap with Dessie Brown to the song in which he used profanity and invoked the names of owner Jerry Jones, tight end Jason Witten and quarterback Tony Romo. Bennett also used derogatory terms toward African Americans and gays.

The team has addressed the situation with Bennett, and the video, which had 23,970 views, has been removed. Associated Press, Fort Worth Star-Telegram Today Women at N. Colo. 6:05 p.m. Today Men vs.

Residence: Palo Alto. Then: The Sacra- mento native and 1978 Rio Americano High School graduate reached No. 18 in the world singles rankings in 1984 and 1985 during her six-year professional tennis career. Moulton, 5-foot-10, advanced to the fourth round of singles in the 1985 U.S. Open and the doubles quarterfinals in six Grand Slam events.

She won the 1979 U.S. Open junior singles title and was a four-time All-Ameri- can at Stanford, taking the NCAA singles title in 1982 and the national doubles title in 1979 and Now: A 1995 graduate of the UC Davis School of Law, Moulton manages real estate assets for San Mateo County and practices real estate law part time. She is divorced with no children. How did Sacramento produce two players, you and Patty Fendick- McCain, who attended the same high school, won NCAA singles titles for the same university and reached the top 20 in the world in the same decade? I have to attribute my success to my mother, who was willing to help me get to tourmaments and do what was necessary to be a great player. She would drive me to the Bay Area, things like that.

Tennis was very popular then. Bill Campbell worked hard to put Sacramento on the tennis map. I grew up in the parks and recreation program and loved it. Unfortunately, tennis has dropped off in popularity a little bit. I like to think I was a role model for Patty.

I had wonderful role models, too Joy Hahn, Debbie Cater, Mary Johnson, Carolyn Ishi and Jack Oates was a wonderful coach. The bottom line is there was a lot of support. I also had Billie Jean (King). She was the one running around in blue suede shoes. She was the one I wanted to be.

Were you happy with your pro tennis career? Absolutely. I went much further than I ever thought. I wanted to be top 10. I worked really hard my last two years because I was convinced I could be top 10, and I wanted to be sure I was finished when I quit. I get there, but I tried.

the biggest change in pro tennis since you played? Everybody is bigger, stronger and fitter. In your prime 25 years ago, 48 of the top 100 women in the world were Americans. Now four are. Why? Other players are more motivated. You have to be willing to give up everything.

hard to do if comfortable. Did you always want to be a lawyer? Yes. I was on the debate team in grade school. I was always interested in the law. taken me a long time to understand it (laughs).

Also, I was determined not to be just an athlete. My parents really wanted me to evolve. I like public service. There are some things about law I like. why I practice full time.

It can be very adversarial and nonproductive, but that background can be invaluable. Are there any similarities between practicing law and playing pro tennis? A lot of work goes into both. Patty had a tremendous work ethic, which you see in a lot of young people. Starting over was very hard going to law school and competing with younger people for positions but it turned out OK for me. grateful for different experiences, and not finished yet.

I might like to run for office. I worked on Hillary campaign. I admire her. similar to Billie Jean King she give up. Do you still play? I play (recreationally) a few times a month.

play more, but I moved to things I get to do. I ski, an avid cyclist, I swim, and I play golf. I think a better sport than tennis. Cycling is dangerous, swimming makes you smell like chlorine, and golf takes forever. Tennis is like chess, ballet and a strength- related sport all in one.

And you can play forever.
