Bi-State Center, Inc. reported' ly has an option on a 70-acre tract of land at Interstate 74 and 53rd Davenport, the possible site of a center. Robert B. Danico, a Bettendorf developer who is listed as director of Bi-State Center, said yesterday no stock has been sold for the proposed facility, but said sales will be discussed at the meeting.

Danico stated the financing will depend on hte cooperation of the communities Of Davenport and Bettendorf. Book Two Drivers Two-' motorists' face charges as a result of a pair of noninjury traffic mishaps in Rock Island yesterday. Florence Gustafson, 64, of 2403 18th Ave. Moline, was charged with making an improper left turn that allegedly resulted in a mishap at 17th Six persons, one of them a Rock Island patrolman, incurred apparent minor injuries in a collision between a Model Cities van and a police squad car at 9:22 this morning on 9th between 3rd and 4th Rock Island. He received treatment at the hospital for an injury to the left shoulder and then returned to duty.

Daniel incurred an injury to the left leg. The learning center provides Rock Island residents, primarily those from the Modei Cities, an opportunity to continue their education. I am very pleased with the success the Storefront has enjoyed during its first year of operation, states Michael Pay-ton, center supervisor. I personally believe our success has exceeded that which was anticipated.

To date the Storefront has served over 330 people, whether to register them for classes at the Storefront, refer them to other educational programs or to other agencies that serve the needs of the community. The Storefront is our way of bringing to the people a propam wherebyi completion of a high school eeucation. is attained, Payton said. Thirty adults have received the General Education Degree (GED) through instruction at the center.
