Everybody is invited The heavy and long-continued rains of the last few days have been very discouraging to our farmers most of whom farm in the river bottom It has also played havoc with the various delightful programs staged by the school Opal Parker and her younger sisters visited with Roland friends during Commencement week The Common School Commencement exercises on last Tuesday were very well attended despite the inclement weather Hon Johnson of Salli-saw delivered and excellent address which was well received Practically all the class of twelve had numbers on the program and they reflected much credit upon the school The diplomas were presented by Prof A Dodson principal of the high school Those composing the class were: Maurine Dodson Arta Mills Leona Blaylock Clyde Blaylock Fols-sie Price Deward Anderson Lucy Gage Lucy Wilson Dacie Mae Carr Hallie Wood Arta Palmer and Dora Sparkman AH will make excellent Freshmen High School commencement exercises were held on Thursday evening and were well attended An excellent program was rendered participated in by the graduating class together with Otis Lewelling Miss Jean Mildred Nichols principal of the Junior High' Miss Grace Carlin Thompson and Rev Thompson who pronounced the invocation In the absence of the speaker of the evening Supt Dodson made a brief address to the class afterwards presenting the diplomas The graduating class consisted of Miss Jettie Irene Wood Mrs Ellen Florine Gilbert and Mr James William Gilbert The high school plays staged on Friday and Saturday nights were put on in good form those participating showing real dramatic ability Each was attended by about five hundred people and all pronounced the plays the best seen in this part of the county In the cast of "All a the Freshman play Otis Lewelling Velda McCormick Oleta McCormick Eva Ferguson Minnie Gage Gordon Thompson Edgar Wood and Pony Cotton The cast of "The Fruit of His the high school play were: Misses Jettie Wood Roberta
