Davis asked William larris "I never asked" William I laths said "You can't change what happened" Before Within I larris' testimony defense attorneys called on psychiatrist Douglas Crowder of Dallas and forensic psychologist Mary Connell of Fort Worth to provide jurors with a glimpse of Robert Wayne troubled life Crowder testifed that Robert Wayne Harris had a difficult childhood because of his stuttering leaving him open to taunts and jokes from other children Crowder said that Robert Wayne larris's half-brother is in prison for murder and that his father shot and killed his stepmother then committed suicide His uncle was fatally shot by his mother's boyfriend Crowder said sought to persuade jurors against the death penalty William told jurors that it was his idea for his brother to go to the carwash at 600 MacArthur Blvd on March 20 William Harris said he had gotten his brother a job at the carwash because he was friends with manager Dennis Lee who was killed that day Robert Wayne Harris was fired from the carwash March 17 after he was accused of exposing himself in a carwash restroom with the door open Irving police said "I was going to go with him" William Harris testified "I was supposed to go to his apartment wake him up and then we would go talk to Iknnis about getting his job back We were going to go to the unemployment office if he couldn't get his job back" Ile told the jury that he was at his Grand Prairie home on the morning of March 20 when he saw the news about the carwash shootings "I called a friend to tell him to tell Robert about what had happened" William I anis said "Next thing police are at my house guns pointed" between right and wrong It's just harder for someone like him to make choices" But prosecutors pointed out that Robert Wayne I finis grew up with good role models who helped him at times "Even though they knew he had been in prison did they the car-wash management agree to hire him?"
