MORIN Gerk of said Court LAM KIN AND LAMKIN 200 South Monroe St. Clinton, Illinois Phone 935-3186 Attorneys for Plaintiff DeVitt County May Join Red Cross Blood Program A blood bank program for Farmer City and DeWitt County can become a reality, the mer City Jaycees were told Friday evening. The Jaycees had inves gated the possibility of such a p. gram as much as 20 months befoie and had written letters to the county Red Cross offering to help Initiate the program. Mrs.

Esther Wrone, Clinton, the treasurer of the county American Red Cross unit, appeared at the Jaycee meeting to supply information regarding the bloodmoblle and bloodbank projects. Mrs. Wrone said that the addition of such a program to work already in process by the Red Cross would raise that groups budget about annually. She suggested that the Farmer City Jaycees conduct the annual fund drive in Santa Anna Township (two precincts), to help In the county wide effort to supply enough funds to pay for the blood program. Mrs.

Wrone also said DeWitt County is the "island county, the only one In which there Is no blood program. As a result, DeWitt county residents use the blood supplied by donors in neighboring counties. John Warner hospital, Clinton, draws on the blood bank at Burnham City hospital, Champaign, and. must repay two pints for each one used. If the county had Its ownblood program, Mrs.

Wrone said, this would not be necessary, and the county hospital could exchange pint for pint with other hospitals to get required types If necessary. The Jaycees voted to accept the project of conducting the fund raising campaign In Santa Anna township, with the blood program as a special incentive. Dale Cox and Jim Tobin were named co-chairmen of the fund drive. Red Cross figures Indicated that If each registered voter In the county could contribute 50 cents, the fund would reach its quota. There has been no Red Cross drive for the past three years, Mrs.

Wrone said. The fund drive Is expected to get underway about Nov. 1, according to the co-chairmen. Several workers will be needed In addition to the Jaycee members, and these are now being sought. Anyone wishing to volunteer help In soliciting, or wishing to make a contribution, may do so at the Farmer City State Bank.
