THE HERALD, "revo, Utah, Sunday, March 17, 1974 Obituaries SEe Na Florence Ann Nelson HEBER CITY Funeral services will be held Monday at I p.m. in Olpin Mortuary in Heber City for Florence Ann Jacob Nelson, 78, who died of natural causes Thursday in a Salt Lake hospital. She was born June 12, 1885 in Pleasant Grove to Hugh A. and Isabel! West Jacob. She married George Nelson April 21, 1915 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He died Oct. 9. 1963. She was a member of the LDS Church and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Survivors include two sons, Bill J.

Nelson, Sandy; and J.R. Neison, Martinez, 1 12 grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; a brother and a sister. Mrs. Emma Jean Duke. Salt Lake City; and Thomas A.

Jacob, Orem. Friends may call a at Olpin Mortuary in Heber tonight from 7 to 9 and an hour prior to services on Monday. Burial will be in the Heber City Cemetery. Melissa Rae Draper daughter of Chad Alien and Penny Bronson Draper of Provo. will be held at the Provo City Cemetery Monday at 2 p.m.

Melissa Rae was born Feb. I. 1974 in Provo and died Saturday of causes incident to birth. Survivors, includer her parents, grandparents. Mr.

and Mrs. Ned Draper, Provo; Mrs. Smith, Burley, and Mr. Bronson, Blackfoot. Idaho.

Graveside services for Melissa Rae Draper, 6 weeks old Fred N. Peterson SALT LAKE CITY- Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday for Fred N. Peterson. of Salt Lake City, who died Friday in a Salt Lake hospital.

A sister, Mrs. John (Lois) Charlie, lives in Heber City. He was born Feb. 11. 1900 in Kamas to Noel W.

and Irma Pack Peterson. He married Charlyn Ranck Sept. 8, 1948; they were later divorced. He married Velma Ilene Pope Nov. 24, 1972 in Elko, Nev.

He was a truck driver with IML for 14 years. He served in the Air Force and was a member of the Future Farmers of America. Survivors include his wife, six sons, Fred Bradford Peterson, Salt Lake City: Michael Dennis Peterson, Scott Peterson, Charles Peterson, Randall Peterson, and Timothy Peterson, all of Matna; stepsons, stepdaughter, Edward Hamilton, Ann Marie Hamilton, Logan Hamilton, all of Granger; parents, Granger; sisters, Mrs. Elvis (Veon) Keysor, Bountiful: Mrs. John (Lois) Charlie, Heber City; Mrs.

Weldon (Lucy) Simmons, Mrs. Cameron (Beverly) Hansen, both of Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be held at 4300 S. Redwood where friends may call tonight from 6 to 8 and Monday an hour prior to services. Burial will be in Redwood Memorial Estates.

Spanish Fork Marvin Arnold Services were held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the Spanish Fork 1st Ward, with burial in Spanish Fork City Cemetery Fredrick Jensen Fredrick Jensen, 91, of 135 S. 400 died Friday at a rest home of natural causes.

He was born Dec. 9. 1882 in Logan, a son of Fredrick and Anna Frederica Peterson Jensen. He married Myrtle Winn on Aug. 21, 1901 in Cache County, and their marriage was later solemnixed in the Logan LDS Temple.

She died 25, 1933. He married Clara. Smith Kirkham on March 6, 1935 in the Salt Lake L.IS Temple Mr. Jensen received his eduation in the Logan City schools, and moved to Provo in 1937, where he owned and operated a motel and cafe. He later was employed at Geneva Steel Piant, working until his retirement.

Following his retirement, he worked for Walker Bank for 21 years, retiring from there at the age of 86. Mr. Jensen played in the Senior Citizens Harmonica Band. He was twice honored for meritorius service to mental health in Utah County, by the Mental Health Association. He received an RSVP pin for 10 years of service through the Retired Seniors Volunteer Service.

Active in the LDS Church. Mr. Jensen was a member of the Provo Sixth Ward and served a3 secretary of the Utah Stake High Priest's Quorum for 21 years. He served as a horne teacher, achieving a 100 per cent record for 25 years. Surviving are his widow of Provo; one son and one daughter, Dee H.

Jensen of Logan and Mrs. John (Ivy) Rylander of Chowchilla, one stepson and one stepdaughter, Ralph N. Kirkham of Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Kenneth (Melba) Laws of Ogden; 13 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild. Funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m.

in the Berg Drawing Room chapel, Provo. Friends may call at the mortuary Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. Theodore Hatch SALEM Theodore "Ted" Hatch, 79, of Vernal, died in the Uinta County Hospital Thursday of natural causes.

He was born Dec. 14. 1894 in Salem, a son of Lewis Andrew and Sarah Elizabeth Sabin Hatch. He married Alice Snow on Nov. 22, 1916 in Salem.

He was a retired plumber and a 32nd degree Mason. He was a member of the Utah Consistory of Salt Lake City and El Kalah Temple of the AAONMS, and Deveremy Chapter 17 of the 0ES of Vernal. He was a member of the Uinta Basin Shrine Club and was a past master and charter member of the Ashley Lodge No. 28 of and AM. He had been installed as Senior Deacon for the current year of the lodge, and had served as Worthy Patron of the Duveromy Chapter 17 of OES from 1956 to 1961 He was a charter member of the local Shrine Club and vice president of the Temple Association.

Surviving are his widow of Vernal: three sons, Vyrl S. Hatch of Roosevelt: Jerry T. and Clayton B. Hatch, both of Vernal: one brother, Irvin B. Hatch of Lake Andes, S.

seven grandchildren. 14 great grandchildren: and one great. great grandchild. Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the Vernal Masonic Temple.

Oakland Shoemaker PLEASANT GROVE Oakland Mitchell Shoemaker, 74. of 69 S. 100 Pleasant Grove, died Thursday at the American Fork Hospital of a heart attack. Algene Bullock LEHI Algene Bullock, 63, of 2100 N. 550 Lehi, died Friday at the American Fork Hospital following a heart attack.

He was born April 24. 1910 in Crescent, Salt Lake County, a 507 of Charles D. and Nellie Osborne Bullock. He married Vera Orel Brems on July 20, 1933 in Salt Lake City, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake L.DS Temple. Mr.

Bullock 1647 a retired employee of Geneva Steel. An active member of the LDS Church, he had served as president of his Elders Quorum, superintendent of the Sunday School, teacher, finance clerk. executive secretary, and High Priest Group leader. He was a memher of the Sons of Utah Pioneers and the Senior Citizens of Lehi. Surviving are his widow of Lehi; four sons, Donald Algene Bullock of South Jordan; Richard John Bullock of Hunter.

LeGrand M. Bullock of Las Vegas, and Elder Neidon Grant Bullock, serving an LDS Mission in Oregon; 12 grandchildren; and five brothers. Thomas Bullock of Midvale: LaMent Bullock of Alpine; Ray Bullock of Fairview: Woodrow Bullock of Pocatello, Idaho; and Douglas Bullock of Payson. Funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Wing Mortuary chapel, 118 E.

15, 1953 in Pleasant Grove. Mr. Shoemaker was a retired estimator engineer for Consolidated Western Steel at Geneva. He had served as a draftsman in a structural steel company in Kansas City, and had been employed at Kennecott Copper Co. at Hurley, N.M., and Lockheed Aircraft in Los Angeles.

He moved to Pleasant Grove in 1952. Mr. Shoemaker was a member of the Masonic Lodge and past president of the Lions Club. Surviving are his widow of Pleasant Grove; a daughter, Mrs. Ron (Mary Jane) Fuller of San Pedro, a stepdaughter, Mrs.

Norman (Gwen) Giliman of Salt Lake City: five grandchildren and three step grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday noon in the Pleasant Grove Fifth LDS Ward chapel. Fail, former residents of Payson, died Friday of injuries suffered when she was struck by a truck in the family driveway. She was born Nov. 3. 1972, a daughter of Richard and Jackie Olsen Fail. Surviving are her parents, a brother and sister, Troy and Kerry Lynn Fail.

A brother, Stanley C. Houston, lives in Orem. He was born Aug. 19. 1930 in Panguitch to Earl and Alma Worthen Houston.

He was divorced. He worked as a fry cook. He was a member of the LDS Church. Survivors include a daughter, April Houston, of Lincoln, a sister and four brothers. Elaine McPhee.

Three Separate Walk-a-Thons Scheduled Saturday in County An 80-year old man and young sixth grade students will be among Walk-a-Thon the March of Dimes participants Saturday, March 23, in the Provo-Orem, American Fork and Spanish Fork areas. according to Bill Mitchell, Walk-a-thon Utah County Chairman. Vern Thurber of Orem, retired mailman, has issued a challenge to any other 80-year-old person in the county to walk with him on the 20-mile hike. Cassandra Porter 85 E. 300 S.

They are encouraging the students, especially the girls, to learn better eating habits to prepare to be mothers in the future. Mr. Mitchell is being assisted by Don Mower in the northern part of the county and Douglas Hurren and Rick Taylor in the southern part.

Cooperating this year as in the other three previous walks, are the Utah County Sheriff's Jeep Possee, the National Guards from Provo, American Fork and Spanish Fork. BYU nurses and police departments from various cities. Registration will begin at 7 a.m. and the walks at 8 a.m. Apples will be served at the eight checkpoints, and hot dog and soft drink at the half way point.

At the end of the walk. doughnuts and soft drinks will be served to everyone. This is free. and "Our way of saying thanks," according to Vernon Law, campaign director for the county MOD. Much of the food is being donated by businesses.

The medics of the National Guard will check for blisters, sunburn, fatigue or anything else that goes wrong. Those who are too tired to complete the trip will be taken by the Jeep Patrol back to starting point, said Vincent Brown, president of the posse. Prizes will be given to participants, including a Honda mini-bike, three 10-speed bicycles, a season ski pass to Sundance and many smaller prizes.
