Gary Snyder was ordained to the priesthood at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church Saturday. May 25. The Most Rev. Frank H. Greteman was the ordaining prelate' and major concelebrant at the ordination mass. Other concelebrants were the Revs. Snyder. Edward Hoffman. Granville: Merle Kollasch. Granville: Edmund Tiedeman. Holy Spirit. Carroll. The Rev. Dale Koster. pastor of Mount Carmel. presented the candidate to the bishop for ordination. Master of ceremonies was Msgr. Leonard Ziegmann. chancelor of the Diocese of Sioux City, assisted by Mike Snyder who was commentator. Servers were Lynn Wuebker and Dean Wiederin. Crossbea.rer was Tom Loneman. Lectors were Jim Berger and Eugene Nieland. A dinner followed the ordination mass with a brief program. Master of ceremonies for the afternoon program was Fr. Richard Birdsall, pastor at Maple River. Fr. Snyder celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving on Monday, May 27. Concelebrating with Fr. Snyder were the Revs. Koster, Msgr. 0. W. Koester, pastor of St. Joseph's parish in Milford, and Merle Kollasch who was alsohomilist. Servers were Danny Pudenz and Dale Reiling. Lectors were Sr. Janet Bohr of Granville and Art Reiff. The organist for both ceremonies was Denise Pudenz and music was provided by parishioners from Our Lady of Mount Carmel. A reception followed the Mass of Thanksgiving. Fr. Snyder has been appointed assistant pastor of St. Joseph's Parish in Granville and assigned to the faculty of Spalding High School. He will attend a summer school session at Creighton University where he will complete his master's work in guidance and counseling.
