TIOX. That the rapid strides of progress lelng made by the city warrants the erection of another modern hotel Is the opinion of L. C.

Barnes, of Los Angeles, and prior to returning to bis home In the sunshine state a few days ago; he announced that he would probably build a hostelry this spring on his property where the Salem Hotel now stands. Mr. Barnes has for some time had this plan In mind but has been watting for the city to reach the size There It would demand and support the kind of a hotel he desired to met This trip he indicated that the prospects were excellent for car rying It out, but before he would definitely announce It, he desired to return to California and attend to some business matters there. He itated that he would return In the course of a month and then make a final decision on the matter and less something unforseen should arise, It Is pretty safe to predict that before the summer season Is over the property will be graced by a handsome building. The site located, as it Is, near the postofllce and county and state buildings Is an Ideal place for a hotel.
