The Grove Sunday School and Church had 38 attendance Brother H.tmscy brought THE DEMOCRAT NOVEMBER 15,1973 Wildcats Finish With 8 Wins The Wildcats points the first practically everyone scored 22 half scoredj went on to beat the Atoka Wampus Cats 45-14 in the last game of the season. The win gave Checotah its second straight 8 -2 season. Steve Irvin kicked off the scoring by picking up a Atoka fumble and running 40 yds for a score.

Gilbert Lee got the second score on an 11 yd. dash and scored on another 9 yd. run in the second half. Charley Thomas scored on an 34 yd. pass from Jenkins and Jenkins ran 6 yds for one, Jim Caro tallied the final points in the 4th quarter on a 43 yd run from the quarterback slot When asked about the season Coach Grandstaff am both disappointed and pleased.

Disappointed because 1 don't believe any athlete or coach is really satisfied till they go all the way. Pleased because we are second in a tough conference and there is six teams below us and we had a winning season. We are losing some people but we got some good Starters coming back and some good people coming up. We may be better ini some re- spectsnext year thatthisyear.
