BY ORVILLE I RNCOCK Fort Wonh Star-Telegram Two young Fort Worth filmmakers spurred on by success in making their first movie Through the Fire are planning a second movie to be filmed in Fort Worth They are choosing a cast for their next production to get under way early next year It is titled One Little Dare an adventure-suspense thriller Charles Cunningham 29 and Gary Marcum 31 each have organized film companies in Fort Worth and both work for each of the companies Marcum's company is Talon Productions and Cunningham's is Can Do Entertainment "We hire each other for each other's expertise" Cunningham said Both are writers and producers Marcum was co-author of the first movie which is being premiered in Fort Worth on Oct 26 at the Ridglea Theater by invitation Marcum wrote the script with Brad Potter Marcum was executive producer and di rector of the film and Cunningham was producer Through the Fire will be distributed by Overseas Eilmgroup a foreign distributor from Los Angeles It was filmed in Fort Worth in natural settings Among the locations were the Blackstone Hotel closed since 1982 and now owned by Fort Worth businessmen Mike Ball and Mark Thomas Cunningham and Marcum agreed that the owners were "very cooperative and great to work with" Other locations were Sardines Ristorante on Camp Bowie and the new Le Chardonnay Restaurant on Forest Park These served as "European locations" while the Jimenez Restaurant at Hulen Mall and MacArthur's on Bernie Anderson Road provided local lounge atmosphere The Jimenez at Hulen Mall has since closed Marcum said the abandoned Blackstone provided "a scary atmosphere which couldn't have been created for a thousand dollars" The film starred Tamara Hext Miss Texas of 1984 and fourth runnerup to Miss America She entered the Miss Texas Pageant as Miss Arlington Male lead is Tom Campitelli Dallas actor who has made three films In supporting roles were Arlington actor-singer Randy Strickland Fort Worth actors Dan Robbins and Danny Hulsey and Dallas actors and actresses Billie Carroll Wendy Wade Lourdes Regala John Davies Jane Sansom and Sue Ellen Enright Marcum a former Fort Worth police patrolman is a city rebuilding 11 streets and extension of the drainage of Timber-creek Drive channel downstream At its Oct 29 meeting the council accepted a report from a Bond Advisory Committee it appointed in August to review the city's capital needs and community interests and set Nov 3 t9 decide on a date for a bond election: "It looks like Jan 21 will be the date set for a bond election" City Manager Ken Neystel said "We have done a lot of study and discussion on a bond issut for these three programs" The Bond Advisory Committee rec- ommended that the three areas -17 streets drainage and library be considered in a $34 million bond election As the council received the committee report Mayor Jerry Dunn said the recommendations will be brought before the council Nov 3 and any tax increase necessary for the financing will be discussed A I 50040-square-foot permanent library was recommended by the committee for bond consideration Also the committee recommended investigation of various grant programs that might reduce the total cost to the city Friends of Benbrook Library have set up a temporary library which went into operation this summer The city gave use of the old City Hall and Fire Department building at 101 Del Rio St for the library and the Friends did the necessary work inside to build shelves and establish a book checkout system The bond committee studied seven (More on
