Hie Alaska Steamship Compuny, and in the near future will possibly be sold by the underwriter to a salvage comnipany to wreck mid dispose of as junk. The cost of floating the stranded vecsel would be large and the axe of her hull has reduced her worth to a point where the expense would probably be greater than Hie value.

The surveyors found the reef on which the Ohio struck before she was beached in Carters Hay and emphatically declare that the passage is exceedingly dangerous and no such boat should be allowed to follow the course usually taken by American skippers in this locality. C'npt. James Fowler, representing Lloyd, carrying the insurance on the hull; Capt. S. It.

tiibbs, representing the cargo insurance, which was with the Sail Frauc'mco board of underwriters', nnd Itadcliffe Formau, an insurance nil justor representing the Alaska Steamship company, returned to Seattle jester day from the wreck, as did ,1. K. Pharo, of the I'uget Sound Salvage Company and 1 livers William nnd Charles I'en jainiu. None of the men would discuss the situation nrdde from reporting the vessel has ninety feet of water over her stern and her hull is buried in the in nil to a depth of fifteen feet. This mud, which prevented any information regarding the damage to her hull being obtained, comes from a river mouth nearby and is daily growing deeper.
