One-won! One product and one purpose that's why the Ford has won. All Fords are alike except the bodies. We have focused our effort upon the making of one good carand the consequent big production has battered the selling cost down to a minimum. Seventy-five thousand new Fords go into service this season proof of their unequalled merit. The price is $590 for the roadster, $690 for the five passenger car, and $700 for the delivery car complete with all equipment, f.

ter. Miss Willie Gordon, daughter of frainlT r.nTnmlKslnner T. J- Gordon. deceased was but thirteen years old and her death t8 particularly sad 'event and a stunning blow to the parents and family. Death was caused by a combination of typhoid and tuberculosis, neither of which would have been sufficient separate- ly to cause her death.

Two years ago Bhe accidently drew a cockle- burr into her bronchial tubes, and afterwards contracted pneumonia, Later a chrnoic cough developed. Five weeks ago she contracted a light case of typhoid and then the tuberculosis took a desperate hold and ultimately caused her death. The political tights are coming on. In Raleigh Tuesday ex-Sheriff Ham Jones, of Wake, flung a glass of water into the face of C. D. Wildes, a Raleigh lawyer. The lawyer was an alternate to the Chi cago convention and Jones accused him of not standing up to Roosevelt.

Wildes called Jones a liar and refused to retract and then Jones got into Two negroes assaulted P. W. 'Allison, in Boone township, Davidson county, last Sunday and seriously cut him. A ceremony which, extending across 10,000 miles, is to unite Harry Von Tenbrink of Wichita, Texas, and Miss Helen Swart of Amsterdam, Holland, as begun June IS. giving Tenbrink claim to the title of champion long distance bridegroom.

Tenbrink remains in Wichita while the bride is nearly on the other sdie of the world, but their lives are to be linked none the less secure ly because of the vastness between them. The strange ceremony "began yesterday when Tenbrink stood before a notary in the presence of witnesses and made: a declaration of his Intention to wed Miss Swartx by proxy. This declaration, duly sign ed and authenticated, Is to be for warded to the Danish consul in Gal veston, who will send it to Queen Wilhelmina of Holland. If it meets with her approval It will go to Miss Swarts will stand before the lord mayor of Am sterdam and make a similar declara tion. Then she will be, to all in tents and purposes, married to Ten-brink.

Mrs. Tenbrink will sail for Texas in July. One reason Tor the ceremony being performed by this long distance method is that the duties law make it very difficult for an un married woman to get a passport out of Holland. This duty will be circumvented by the absent treat ment wedding. Von Tenbrink will have another ceremony performed by a minister when his proxy bride reaches Texas.

Negro Lynched by Pickens Crowd, Greenville, June Having at tempted to assault the wife of a highly respectable farmer of Pick ens county and having shot her twice in the back with a single-barreled shot-gun as she ran through the fields to her husband, Brooks Gordon, a young negro was torn from the custody of the sheriff by a determined mob late this afternoon and lynched. The woman is reported to be resting well, and her chances of recovery are favorable unless complications set in. The crime is one of the moat atrocious of the kind ever committed in this section of the State, and the portions of Pickens county where the offense was perpetrated was in a terrible turmoil from the time the deed became known until the thirst for vengeance had become satisfied-.
