There has been plenty of fun in this city since the Xmas holidays came ana tne young people have had a jolly time of it All regretted to the new year come, for it brought work and school days which all iazy ones dread. Some of oW'young people gave an" oyster supper last riday night for the benefit of the Cedar Rock Bap tist church. Quite a large crowd at- tenaea. Our school at the Academy opened Monday after a holiday of a few weeks.

The teachers, Mr. E. L. Best and sister, Miss Mary, are fine teachers, and are well liked around the "Hock." Miss Mary has a class in music i Tis, reported that some girls down here wear wigs and some others will order some soon. The neighbors were delighted last luesday to see Mr. Charlie Gattis moving into Mr. E. S. Green's house near the church.

Mr. Gattis is clever, christian gentleman, and liked and respected by all. The writer takes pleasure in welcoming him ana ms lamiiy among us. The Sunday School at Cedar Rv is doing finely. We re-organised last una ay.
