win the District 4A-5 football opener 13-8 Saturday night A Farrington Field crowd of 4107 saw McNeill sail 80 yards in the first quarter and follow up a blocked Parrot kick with a two-yard blast just before intermission Poly was paralyzed by the Steer defense until the final 12 minutes but then the Parrots scored and kept gunning for a go-ahead counter with the passing of Quarterbacks Gary Cantrell and Bob Purcell McNeill rushed for a total of 133 yards in the first half and later added 33 more for 166 on 21 charges McNeill's 80-step stunner ended a five-play 94-yard march The 188-pound
