9111 FORT WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM SUNDAY, JULY 8, 1984 Obituaries ROY A. KEMP retired minister Dr. Roy A. Kemp, 84, author, retired minister and formers seminary professor, died Tuesday at his Fort Worth home. Funeral will be at 3 p.m.

Monday at Calvary Baptist Church in Grand Prairie. Kemp, a former Baptist preacher, wrote 11 books on biblical theory during a ministerial ca- ROY reer of 65 years. KEMP He began preaching in 1917 and graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1925. He was pastor of five churches and was dean of Bible Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth. He was a professor of theology at Arlington Baptist College for 20 years.

He had several advanced degrees from Southwestern Baptist, Bible Baptist and Arlington Baptist and was inducted into a preachers' hall of fame in 1976. Survivors include his wife, Alcie Oneda Kemp; sons, Troy L. Kemp of Fort Worth and John R. Kemp of Weatherford; his daughter, Joy K. Browning; a brother, Omer Kemp of Lubbock; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

JACK L. SIMS Arlington resident Funeral for Jack L. Sims, 65, of Arlington, will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington. Burial will be in Moore Memorial Gardens.

Sims, an Arlington resident for 38 years, died Friday at a Fort Worth hospital. He had worked for Vought Corp. and Betzel Corp. as a tool and dye specialist. Survivors include a daughter, Madelaine Reese of Mansfield; a son, Jack Lewis Sims Jr.

of Arlington; a brother, James A. Sims of Dallas; four grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild. Edna Quattlebaum CLEBURNE Edna Quattlebaum, 85, of Cleburne, died Saturday in a nursing home. Funeral Crosier will Pearson at 3 p.m. Monday, at Funeral Home with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery in Cleburne.

Mrs. Quattlebaum was a homemaker and a member of the Sand Flat Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Betsy McAlister of Alvarado and Fern Holland of Fort Worth; four sons, Jack Quattlebaum of Cleburne, Noel Dean Quattlebaum of Joshua, Clint Quattlebaum of Covington and Jimmy Quattlebaum of Albuquerque, N.M.; two brothers, Barbee Moore of Fort Worth and Jessie Moore of Cleburne; a sister, Marie Ramsey of Fort Worth; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. Malcolm D. Clark CLEBURNE Malcolm D.

Clark, 59, of Cleburne, died Saturday in a Cleburne hospital. Graveside service will be at 10a.m. Tuesday at Rose Hill Cemetery. Clark was retired from the Sante Fe Railway. He was a member of the veteran World War II and had Church of Christ.

He was a Navy lived in Cleburne for 10 years. Survivors include his wife, Betty Clark of Cleburne; three daughters, Donna Moxley and Cathy Goff, both of Cleburne, and Charla Higginbotham of Spain; a son, Malcolm Clark Jr. of Arlington; his mother, Mrs. R.L. Robinson of Cleburne; three sisters, Leona Pierse of Cleburne, Cleta Boley of Thackerville, and Ramona Ingram of Snyder; three brothers, Norman Clark of Fort Worth, Cecil Robinson of Corpus Christi and Rholtus Robinson of Akron, Ohio; and 11 grandchildren.

Marion H. Miller GARLAND Marion H. Miller, 81, of Garland, died Friday in a Dal- las hospital. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Jones-Cato Funeral Chapel in Burleson.

Burial will be in Rendon Cemetery in Johnson County. Survivors include his wife, Louise Miller of Garland; two sons, Ray Miller of Mansfield and Don Miller of Garland; two daughters, Juanita Watts of Garland and Modena Allen of Joshua; five sisters, Ora Allen Delano Edna Lay of Van Alstyne, Rosa Lee Gaskill of McKinney, and Ruth Burk and Suzie Winneke of Fort Worth; a stepbrother, Dellas Binion of Chillicothe; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. The family will receive visitors 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Leonard Winslett LIPAN Leonard Winslett, 79, a farmer and a longtime resident of Lipan, died Saturday at a Granbury.

Survivors include a son, Carlos Joe Winslett of Lipan; three daughters, Martha McCurry of North Richland Hills, Charleen Dowthitt and Gerry Addison, both of Lipan; two sisters, Wanda Barron of Lipan and Viola Clary of Mineral Wells; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

VIRGINIA SWANSON Fort Worth resident Virginia Nelson Swanson, 70, a longtime Fort Worth resident, died Saturday after a long illness. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Burial will be at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. Survivors include her husband, Travis Swanson; two daughters, Margie Oliver and Ann Hooper, both of Fort Worth; two sons, Jimmy Shoot of Fort Worth and Bobby Nelson of Midland; a sister, Marguerite Laningham of Colleyville; 13 grandchildren; three, great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorials be in the form of contributions to the American Lung Association. JAMES EARNEST REID II riding club member Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday 'at Lucas Funeral Home at 571 N. Sylvania Ave. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

She was a member of the Oakhurst Methodist Church. Mrs. Carter was a native of Arlington and lived in Fort Worth more than 50 years. Survivors include a son, Marcus D. Carter of Bedford; a daughter, Sallie Littlepage of Fort Worth; four grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren.

The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society. James Earnest "Jim" Reid II, 32, a former Fort Worth resident, died Fridavin a Dallas hospital from injuries he suffered during an equestrian accident. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Upper Greens Creek Cemetery in Dublin. Reid, a state employee, was a member of the Mount Vernon Riding Club.

He was riding his horse on June 30 when he fell and struck his head. He was hospitalized in Dallas until his death. Reid's wife, Valerie, is expecting a child in September. Other survivors include his daughter, Anna Beth, and his son, Bennett, both of Mount Vernon; his mother, Beth Reid of Fort Worth; two sisters, Marilyn Lewis of Rockwall and Jan Putnam of Fort Worth; two nieces; and three nephews. CARTER 50-year resident Marjorie D. Carter, 73, of 1901 Marigold St. in Fort Worth, died Friday in a hospital. GENE HILL SR. founded supply firm Gene Hill 78, of Fort Worth, died Saturday in a Fort Worth hospital after a long illness.

Funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Meadowbrook United Methodist Church. Burial will be in a Spanish Fort cemetery. Hill founded Gene Hill Equipment a service station supply company, in 1945. He owned and operated the business until he retired in 1972.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Hill of Fort Worth; a son, Gene Hill Jr. of Fort Worth; two daughters, Diane Taylor of Fort Worth and Carolyn Lewis of San Antonio; two sisters, Lucille Howard of Waurika, and Oleta Lattimore of Dallas; and seven grandchildren. DELMA, BOBBY DEARS killed in wreck Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Memorial Park. A joint service for Delma and Bobby Dears, two brothers killed in a car accident July 4, will be at 2 p.m.

Monday at Highland Park Baptist Delma, 21, and Bobby 23, both lived at 3432 Booker T. St. The two were killed as they and four others people were driving a gunshot victim to the hospital. The car they were riding in went out of control and struck a pole. Survivors, all of Fort Worth, include their parents, Emmett and Zula Dears; and five sisters, Treisa Dears, Evelyn Dears, Jo Ann Dears, Edna Dears and Louise Dears.

Bobby Dears is survived by a son, Bobby Ray Murphy of Fort Worth. Eddie Ruth Mayers WEATHERFORD Eddie Ruth Mayers, 54, of Weatherford, died Friday in a Fort Worth hospital. Funeral will be at 2p.m. Sunday in Galbreaith-Pickard Chapel. Burial will be in Johnson Cemetery, near Dennis in Parker County.

She was a native of Dennis and had lived in Parker County all of her life. Survivors include her husband, Darrell Mayers of Weatherford; five daughters, Helen Cook, Kathy Plowman, Wanda Long, Linda Mosher and Ida Mayers, all of Weatherford; fivesons, Henry Mayers of Weatherford, Harold Mayers of Fort Worth, Thomas Mayers of San Angelo, Harvey Mayers of Duncan, and Jimmy Mayers of Dennis; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.0. Hull of Weatherford; a sister, Alice Carr of Weatherford; five brothers, Harry Hull.
