The reception lasted from eiht o'clock until after midnight, and the scene was one of the most brilliant and beautiful ever witnessed in Lonisburg. Miss Lyon by Miss Sumner Fuller, received in the front parlor. She was handsomely gowned in light blue taffeta silk, with aa accordion-pleated chiffon waist, while Miss Fuller wore white silk with pearl trimmings. After being presented, the guests were conducted to the rear parlor where a game of progressive carroms was being carried on. Here the fan was fast insured.
