express our appreciation for the splendid manner in which we were treated while at Fort Worth The Skymasters treated us with every possible courtesy and gave us splendid service when requested The Junior Chamber of Commerce was also of utmost assistance and was right on the spot to help in securing practice fields gyms etc They couldn't have given better service There is only one complaint that I have to make and that is in regard to the rodeo at Arlington Downs Since the proceeds of the football game went for charity purposes we felt and many others felt that the management of the rodeo would have gladly admitted our team free of charge We were informed that someone was going to try to get free tickets for our team After spreading the word around among our players and getting the names of those wanting to go we then received word that the box seats were sold out and the team would have to take their chances on buying grandstand seats at the gate Since the players wanted to go to the rodeo and transportation had been arranged I felt obligated to our team Therefore I sent out two of the managers and they located tickets which we purchased at one of the Fort Worth hotels I hate to complain about this but it seems that any loyal American would go to bat for a football team made-up of many overseas veterans who were playing a football game from which the proceeds were used for charity purposes Such things as I have just mentioned always leave a bad taste in one's mouth It's not the money that matters but it's the principle of the thing Again I want to thank
