PitTuesday: "In Q—I have a painful bone spur in my heel. Is it caused by a calcium deficiency? Will it get worse? What Is the best treatment? A—The causative factors include arthritis, age (over 50), overweight and poorly fitted shoes. It is not caused by a calcium deficiency but an accumulation of calcium at a point where the heel is subjected to continued trauma. It Is not likely to grow larger unless the injury Is repeated day after day. A similar spur in a location whore it was not subjected to dally weight- bearing pressure could exist for y e a r s without you ever knowing you had it. Most victims can b« made comfortable by removing as many of the causative factors as possible and by padding to take the pressure off the tender spot. Only rarely is it necessary to remove the spur surgically. When this Is done, the spur may form again if the factors that caused It in the first place have not been remedied. 9:45 a,m, U;00 a,m MONDAY 5;0p p.m, TUESDAY 6;QO p.m. 7:00 8;00 p.m. p,m, 9.H5 i,n. * Pible i.ro. » Bible CJanses ST, PAUL C,M,E, CHURCH Washington, Arkansas Sanjort B, Tpjjetee, Pastor SUNDAY iO?QO t,m, » Cnureh School Pro!, Q. s.
