Cline spent the past week visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. Will Walker, near Glen Alpine. The dates for changing of ringing of the early bell at Hospital are October 1st and April 1st, the latter 30 minutes earlier. The Hospital has recently had the large vehicle shed at the barn converted into a garage with four apartments.

These men are showing quite a likely interest in the college, leading the boys in cleaning up the campus and painting the auditorium. Rev. J. M. Terrill has contracted for the Gaston place in the northern part of town.

W. F. Elliott has been chosen to represent the Woman's Missionary society and Miss Erin Abercrombie that of the Young People's society at the annual meeting to be held in Lenoir May 10-13. It will be difficult for these good women to go, as this is also the time of our commencement. However they will endeavor to be there part of the time.

The biennial election of town officers for the town of Rutherford College comes off May 3rd at the town library. Mr. Ed Logan spent the week-end with his wife in Catawba. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dale the past week, a fine daughter.

Mr. Everett Mull has moved his family into one of Mr. Poteet's cottages near the Hospital. Mrs. Jeff Simms and baby, of Glen Alpine, spent the past week with her family, Mr.

Eva Giles and two daughters, of Marion, spent Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tolbert at the Caldwell colony. She also visited her daughter, Miss Mae Giles, nurse, at the Hospital. Mr.

Bracher Clark and family spent Sunday with Mr. Frank B. Duckworth and family in Morganton. This being Mr. Duckworth's birthday a nice dinner was served and all enjoyed the occasion.

Miss Maude. E. Roddell. of Charlotte, visited her father. Mr.

Henry Rodell, at the Hospital Sunday. She was accompanied by Mr. and Mrs Todd, of Charlotte, and Mr. and Winchester and son. Charlton, of Gastonia.

They made the trip in a car. Mr. F. E. Kaylor and his force have just finished repainting the inside of the new cow barn.

Mr. W. E. Walton's many friends at the Hospital and community were exceedingly sorry to hear of his death which occurred early Mondav morning at a Charlotte hospital. All extend their sincere svmpathv to his bereaved family and loved ones.

DeLancey made a trip to Catawba on Sunday afternoon to visit Mrs. P. A. White-ner's mother, who is still quite ill. They returned Monday.

Mrs. Jessee Huffman, who had been with Mrs. Whitener, returned with the party Monday. Mrs. L.

C. Rockett spent several days the past week with her daughter, Mrs. Jerome Mr. Oscar Duckworth has just returned from a trip to Charlotte and Gastonia. Miss Annie Mae Brendle, nurse at the State Hospital, spent Monday at her home.

Mr. John Brendle, her father, is improving in health. Mr. Walter Whitener and family were Sunday guests of Mrs. Eva Denton.

Little Miss Geneva Poteet spent Saturday night with Miss Pearl Denton. Mr. Andrew Hilderbrand is painting the inside of Mr. F. P.
