W. May. An Interesting Relic of Andy Apropos of the talk in the lower house of Congress about the birthplace of President Jackson, says Mr. Hal B. Adams, it may be remarked that there are a number of highly valued family traditions concerning him among the old stock in and about Waxhaw.

'Squire Henry McWorhter uelights to recall those in his family. His great-grandmother, Elizabeth Mc-Whorter, was present at the -George McCamie-house at the time of the future President's birth, and handed down her statement as to the home in which he was born, to her descendants. The 'Squire's grandfather. George McW.horter, was in school with Andrew at a school near Charlotte. He left his account of Andrew as being a tough, wiry littl chap, that the bigger boys could throw down but could never conquer.

The British, ssys the 'Squire, at one time got after Andrew and his grandfather; George escaped but Andrew, who at the time was only about thirteen, was captured and taken to Charleston to prison. Andrew's mother walked tie long distance to carry her boy some clothes, and on her way back, contracted a fever and died. Andrew wan'orpl r--k home after the wr. Mr. T.
