A. C. Henderson, secretary of the Catawba County Fair Association, spent Friday in Marion. K. Alexander, of Ashboro, who formerly resided in Marion, was a visitor here during fair week.

Clinton Landis, of the University, spent the latter part of last week with his parents here. Mrs. W. McNeely has returned home after a visit to relatives and friends in Johnson City, Tenn. Mrs.

S. H. Yancey, after a visit to relatives here, will leave this week for her home in New York City. J. H.

Keith, of Newport, spent the latter part of the week here with his daughter, Mrs. T. M. Finley. Dr.

Lester Williams, of Union Mills, and Dr. Hoke Hemphill, of Bostic, spent the latter part of the week here. Miss Gladys Goodson, who is teaching in the graded school at Salisbury, spent the week-end here with her parents. Mrs. J.

S. Harper, of Fayette-ville, spent uesday and Wednesday in Marion with her daughter, Miss Kate Harper. John Elliott was summoned to Waynesville last week owing to the serious illness of his mother, Mrs. N. A.

The special features of the program included a recitation, "The House by the Side of the Road," by Mary Hudgins; singing by the children of primary grades, teaching a model class in primary grades by little Frances Gilkey, a solo by Miss Elma Carson and the report of the work of the Sunday School for the pat quarter. The exercses were unusually interesting.
