the evening meal was eaten about 8 Shortly after the coach put his charges to bed Coach Bennie Owens is confident tut nut jubilant He held an impromptu reception In the lobby of the Westbrook Among those present at the affair were Coach Aubrey Alexander of Poly Coach Willis Stewart of and Captain Ware and Halfback Thannish of dI think we will win from the Longhorns" said Coach Owens "I have a little team but the men are wonderfully game They pull together too and if we are defeated it won't be because we didn't do our best "I know nothing about the Texas team this year We have rot had anyone to see Texas play and haven't even an estimate of the team's strength but we are going to play our hardest Fears Forward Pass "The only thing I fear is that long forward pass state used last year My men are hard fighters and my chief difficulty has been to keep my secondary line of defense from inching up to get into the scrimmage thereby leaving openings for the long forward pass It was a pass of this character caught while the recipient was running at top speed that enabled the Longhorns to make their only substantial gain against our team lest year I consider this long pass the most dangerous play of the year It 13 likely to upset many games "Ily team averages about 165 pounds We can't get big men to I Tstp 41 a 7 ii 4 ii si 1 I 1 71 1 i I 0 i Ilci Tunusualt 1 Ti: i i 4 lit the usual handicap of lack of time to perfect the intricacies of the game but its backers were convinced that it would make up in dash and determination what It lacked In football knowledge Perhaps the most astonishing incident connected with the conclusion of the most sensational of all worlds series was the fact that the attendance which previously had kept up almost to the limit notch was cut in two in the deciding game of the struggle Less than 17000 persons paving a total of $30000 one-half the customary tribute paid daily during the title series turned out for Wednesday's contest The diminished attendance was due to the boycott of the Royal Rooters' organization and the stinging remarks of Mayor Fitzgerald in regard to Secretary Mc Roy's failure to reserve seats for the rooters at
