such ready responses in the way of contributions Friday afternoon before the city edition had been on the streets an hour three contributions had been received Each mail Saturday brought contribuitions in amounts from one dollar up and Saturday showed a totpi of $10450 reached and the Good Fellows Club only a day old At this rate the Good Fellows Club is going to he about the biggest in town about Christmas time and there is going to be enough funds in the treasury to gladden the hearts of hundreds of poor little kiddies The biggest contribuition came in Saturday night in the shape of a check from Sam A Joseph proprietor of Joseph's cafe Mr Joseph sent in a cheek for $25 with a note indorsing the campaign and praising The Star-Telegram for its efforts to brighten The hearts of the poor kids A Galveston business man who declined to Lave his name used sent in a cheek for tie said he read of the campaign in Saturday's paper and though only here for a few hours felt that he ought to do his part Rogan manager of the Owens lumber yard on the north side sent in $5 to be credited the memory of his brother Regan and a letter praising the campaign This letter reads: "Star-Telegram Good Fellows Club: As mentioned in your paper my brother Hogan was killed in New Mexico Nov 24 He left a wife and one baby and he was a prince of good fellows He sleeps now in Oakwood
